If you read the fine print, you'll find that the Military doesn't have to keep any of those promises. In fact, there's a guy in the reserves who is suing the Marine Corps right now because he keeps trying to use his education benefits and they keep sending him back to Iraq for extended tours--4 in 5 years.
Oh, they might promise those things you listed, Recruiters have quotas you know, But enlistees would be lucky to actually get two crack ho's, $500 and a '92 Yugo.
Eventually we are going to have to go back to the Draft or get a President who knows, how to use the Army we have. Small and loaded with heavily armed highly mobile elite formations. Today's military was designed to hit hard and fast and leave mopping up to the locals. Putting them in the sitting duck role just wastes lives and all that money the taxpayers spent on training.

they just started recruiting again the other day so ur in luck. i was in it for 4 years and found it to be very good you say your married... you will be confined to the barracks for about 6 months so u wont be aloud to go home only at the weekends. after the six months is done its pretty much nine to five 70% of the time the rest of the time you can be anywhere in ireland or abroad. so might be tough going with family life for a few years until you get settled in. after the first 7 to ten years you will get a handy job driving or something but you will be on your toes for the first few years.

He is clandestinely giving out citizenships for enlistees and their families to young Mexicans who are in ~ they are awarded their citizenship over in Iraq.
American youth are not interested in the war. They have been raised and formed to be consumers not protectors. This is one failing of the Bush administration. I truly think the draft will be back before all is said and done.

It's kinda getting that way.......
warfare is changing....
Seems the images coming out of Iraq more accurately convey the reality than a recruiting poster.
See soldiers kicking in doors.
I can't see a whole lot of IRAQ WAR Vets eager to sign on for more kicking in of doors for whomever is willing to pay for it.

WOW!! Recruitment is down??? I'm shocked. <sarcasm>
Maybe they'll start taking drunks and then the Bush daughters can go, or be traded for a couple of players to be named later.

Are we becoming like the French Foreign legion. Do people no longer have to be Americans to fight this war. This should show Bush something when nbody want to fight in a war that, like viet Nam, is unjust, and nobody want to see their blood spilt for a war that is Bush's folly. He won't get out as it would show him and only him as wrong, and he can't let that happen,, so on we go, until the next election. It truly is a travisty.

Actually that article didn't say recruitment was down.
It said the Army met its July recruitment goal and was on track to meet its yearly recruitment goals, despite needing to recruit more soldiers this year than last year, because the size of the Army is expanding.

I'll settle for a Saleen 2S81 Extreme Mustang, no taxes for life and a paid mansion in the Hamptons, so I can join Ted Kennedy at the bar and drink some whiskey and make jokes about that chick that drowned in the trunk of his car in Chappaquiddick.
