Unfortunately not....
It happens very often with the teenagers but in a way I think is parents fault.
Many parents spoil their children and they allow them to do everything they want.....
I respect and love my mum and I am grateful for all the sacrifices she made for me and I think I am how I am now because of her.
I don't lie, I don't steal, don't get drunk and have one night stands, never took drugs,I am very opinionated but I respect everybody around, did my college...etc

Young people today dont seem to respect their parents, but im sure they really do , they dont seem to respect anything or anyone.
Depends what you mean by respect anyway.
Even people with elderly parents dont have as much time for them today as they used to, I think the way of life has changed drastically over the last 30 years or so, nobody seems to have any time for family.

No i think it is only in later life that you realise what they have done for you the sacrafices etc that they have made often people spend there lives thinking their parents are old fashioned and dont know anything about life and that there advice is not worth listening to.
I am close to my mum but not my dad, he truly has done nothing to earn my respect

I think it depends on what you mean by respect.
I'm not one for thinking they should be respected just for the fact they are my parents.
However, I do respect them and appreciate all the things they did for me when I was growing up. I'm not very close to them and never really have been, but the sacrifices they made (particularly my mam!) when I was a kid were huge, so I respect that

It depends on the parents,if the they respect them selves then kids will respect them automatically. Some parents dont respect their kid in one way or another so how will you expect such a kid to respect them.
