If its a "Pre-Natal" nurse appointment, they will have you fill out every form in the place. They will ask family history form both sides so be prepared for that.
They will also do major blood and urine tests.
If its your first Pre-Natal doctor visit (usually about 10 - 12 weeks along) they will try to hear the heartbeat, check your uterus for proper growth, then the generals, blood pressure, temperature, weight, height, etc. Probably more blood tests. Get used to the needle, they tend to do a lot of different tests depending on how far along you are, and your genetic make-up.
Best of Luck and congratulations!!

An overall check up and blood work. Future appts. will be scheduled, prenatal vitamins given. An opportunity to ask questions and address concerns (write them down so you don't forget to ask!) I read the book What to expect when you're expecting and it answered a lot (but not all) of my questions and helped ease anxiety. Congrats!

It could depend on how far along you are. I had my first around 11 weeks. I had a full exam (pap smear, breast exam), blood work, urinalysis, and they listened to the baby's heartbeat (if you are not near 12 weeks, they won't be able to do this with a doppler yet), plus a lot of talking - gave them medical history, family history, etc, and got to ask questions.

Just a normal OBGYN appointment-minus the pap. Most likely they will try and set up future appointments the best they can to keep you coming to the office at the correct times and they will give you a paper with things to expect. Sometimes they give you a blood test-either in the office or send you to a lab to get it done. I had it one my 2nd appointment, but I have heard of women getting it done on the 1st.
