Why do Christians believe in Heaven but deny the existence of Hell?

Surely you can't just believe in one without accepting the existence of the other? How else can Christianity make sense of the existence of suffering in God's perfect creation?

Jesus tells us, the Kingdom of Heaven is in each of us. Luke 17:21. If the kingdom of heaven is within each of us, then how would hell exist as a place outside of us? Either you believe, or you do not. Either Jesus was right, or those who came after him were. It's a choice, to be sure...but I choose to follow the words of the son of man, not those of disciples that never knew him.

Suffering in God's perfect creation can never be explained if it is indeed perfect. No matter how you explain this suffering...hell, satan, etc., it remains an imperfection that God allows to exist. Is it God's will that this person dies and this one lives? Is it God's perfect love and will that so many will die from hurricane Dean? I don't know. I just don't think you can use hell to explain away an exception to perfection.

I don't personally know anyone who claims to be Christian who does not believe in hell. Heaven and hell are direct opposites of each other but are one in the same ... in the sense they can't be separated or one can't exist without the other. If you believe in heaven then you believe you will be in a place with the absence of evil because of the decisions you make while living this life. If this is true then there must be an opposite place that exists for the same reasons ... a place where some will go also because of the decisions they made while living this life ... heaven is a reward for the faithful and hell is a lack of reward for those who purposely reject the Gospel message. You can't have one without the other ... not in Christian theology any way.

Christians do believe in hell, i know LDS dont, they believe in three kingdoms, the highest, where you can become a God of your own little world, only if you are LDS and have a temple recommend, and are married, and have done many good works, or theres the middle kingdom for all the believers in the "wrong" churches, or the lower where you go if you been bad.

Christianity does not recgognise the existence of hell- because christians have no fear of what will happen to the in the hearafter!

believeing that 'if you area christian' thats good enought for god- he will let you in2 his garden of paradise! this is not the case- if you want nice things- you have to work hard for them right?? this is also what God has told us- we must pray- fast, charity, etc.... n it is out actions and deeds that will determine our path in the hereafter!

because christians do not have fear of god in thier hearts- that is why- christianity is not practised srtongly across the globe- because it is tailored to suit people! homosexuality- is not godly! we all know that- so whay are thier gay priests! because they do not have fear of god in thier hearts..

in addition how can you know the full meaning of one thing without knowing the meaning of the other? how do u know what is good- when you do not know bad?

how do u know what is hot when you do not know what is cold?

how do u know wher is east when you do not know west! so inorder to strive for the heavens in the hereafter you must acknowledge that what you do matters! how you live matters- so if you are really thinking about this- on a serious level- take a look at islam- not what the T.V says or what stereotypes are made- pure islam is beautiful- it is the truth and the way! take a look! if you are searching for the truth- search properly- otherwise you will not find it!

Because they're too scared that they'll go there of course! They know how hypocritical they are. If they believe god sees and knows all, they believe that they won't get to heaven, so the best thing is to deny the existance of hell.

it is written in the Bible that there is hell the place for suffering yes but that is for the bad people who had never accept God and his son and that he died on the cross for us . God's will that everybody have life in Jesus so the hell is the place to suffer the people who don't want be wite God and refuse his forgiveness by the blood of Jesus . God is good but people are choosing to go to hell by rejecting God .God is justice .imagine if there is a thief or murder in front of good judge . the judge will send the murder to prison peu importe how much is the judge good .if the judge is justice he must send the murder to prison .so it is our choice to go to hell or accept Jesus and go to heaven. because there is no one without sin and sinners cant go near God (to heaven ) because God is Holy cannot suport the sin so he came to earth died on the cross he prepared us the way to heaven.

I believe in hell no doubt if you do some terrible crimes you will definitely go to hell.

And even then I don't believe that is the end of you all wrong doers, get their comeuppance either in this world or the next.

Those who deny the existence of hell are not true Christians. They are fakes.
