What are the procedures for filing charges against someone?

Question

Altercation occured b/w 1 woman & 3 other women, 1 man. When officer arrived, he took the side of the 3 women & man (b/c the woman screamin' like a maniac was beat up badly). The woman who was completely by herself, defending herself from 4 punks was not allowed to give her statement & was threatened to be taken in. The 3 women & the idiot punk man who kicked, pushed to ground, and punched lady (53) made false allegations as to how fight started & pressed charges - only evidence the woman who was alone has are the local department store cameras, which can prove that the 3 women started the fight & the other woman was simply defending herself. At no point in the report does it state that she was thrown to the ground, kicked, punched, & dragged not just by the women but the man too. When she went to file @ precinct was told she needed to find the officer & was not allowed to file. FYI: Italian cop sided w/ italian group who had fight w/ a hispanic woman... I see racism here!!

I do agree "not all cops are bad" but in this instance it seems he had already made a judgement call w/o getting the straight facts...

If the police department has already made the determination that she was at fault (whether she was or not), then she must get an attorney.  Plain and simple, and the only way around the department!
Instead of going after the assailants though, she needs to pursue the department for negligence.  At that point, they will reopen the investigation and hopefully the tapes and other evidence will still be intact.  She needs to hurry to the attorney.

Definitely a case where the cop was wrong (for once.) Best thing to do is find an attorney and file a civil suit against the cop and the rest of the punks (probably have to deal with them one at a time...Taking on the police in the court system can be hard.) And yes, definite racism! Good luck, I hope that everyone who did wrong here is brought to justice...

Take a small recording gadget (with a tape long sufficient to checklist the finished type) into the class. earlier the class starts, start up recording to capture each thing. If it information him belittling you for no apparant reason (he's in simple terms being recommend to you), you have a case. communicate on your father and mom, central and councilor. produce different teenagers in college vouch for you. in case you're quite being a competent student and this guy is being recommend for no justified reason, he desires some help. No instructor has a precise to call scholars names and placed them down. i might bypass out of my thank you to make valuable he became interior the unemployment line next week. Recordings do not lie – they capture each thing!

You can file a civil suit against the police officer and a claim for injury and monetary compensation for her injuries if they involved hospital care or doctors visits.

P O has to take a report if she wants to make one... Honestly tell her to go back and talk to sgt. or lt. They have to write what she's stateing. If that doesn't help write a complain and I A will take care of it... Good luck... Not all cops are bad

The words "get a good ATTORNEY and file thru him" come to mind... If she can't afford one, there are free legal aids all over the country....

get complete evidences in video form and get some persons as evidence and then file your report.
