Just wondering how many business owners out there are having trouble trying to go global - what types of issues are you encountering?

  • For business owners looking to expand internationally or are having trouble with their shipping services?

Does anyone do their research? USPS, UPS, & DHL are not the only international shipping companies out there. And it's sad to see so many of my favorite stores either canceling their international services or not offering international shipping at all b/c of customs issues and over-priced contracts. They are losing so much capital because these shipping money mongers want to rip through their clients' pockets! I finally found a company that does it all... it's not just shipping that they offer but anything that can be tailored to suit the client's needs. Now, if only everyone would just jump on the gold bandwagon and we can seriously boost the economy!!!!! How many of you business owners have had issues trying to go global?

  • Does anybody know the name of that abs machine?

I saw an infomercial on this... it's a new abs roller type machine that has you sit on your knees while the circular pad rolls about 180deg. They're offering a trial period. Please advise if anyone knows the name.

  • Which company offers the best rug cleaning for a car?

A quart of milk spilled in my back seat on the main rug of the car, unbeknownst to me.... as I was driving my small cooler tipped over and the already-open jug of milk fell as well. I grabbed the cooler w/o realizing what happened until the following day when WHAM I get hit with the stench! My goodness it was horrible... I tried everything to clean it out myself to no avail...

please advise what cleaning company would do an amazing job that's not too expensive!

    Thanks for the tips!

  • How do I politely/professionally say?

Get your butts up early enough to make your boat, your bus, or your train and stop complaining that your ride is leaving "2mins early" as you're running to get on. People are so damn spoiled nowadays - they expect door to door service - they want to get to work on time but w/o the work of getting up early, giving themselves ample time for traffic and/or sudden emergencies that may take up even more of a longer commute.

Why is it that people rant & rave about a certain public transportation not getting them to their jobs on time b/c of certain issues when they don't bother to do their part.. and I'm sick of hearing "well, I pay for this." Yeah, they won't get up early for that but if there's a huge sale for merchandise you bet your life these same idiots will get up at the crack of dawn even though the stores won't open till 9AM.. and don't give me that bull, well why should I have to get up so early... well, then you shouldn't get pissed off if the train, bus, or whatever doesn't get you into work on time!

I, for one, drive my car 1mile every morning to my son's school from home, then 4 miles into work... I cannot have road rage b/c I'm stuck in traffic and I'm 30mins away from my job even though I've only 10mins to get there.. well whose fault is it? MINE! 'cause I didn't get up earlier enough knowing that I may or may not have to anticipate for things such as these...

Sorry for ranting myself but my question is how do I politely explain to these people to just get up early....

  • My car sounds horrible after an oil change?

2004 Kia Optima V6 - yes, some might say "eh, cheap car." Yes, it is very affordable but it runs like a dream. I've NEVER had any problems w/ this car & anyone who ever took a ride in it always acclaimed how smooth & quiet it was. Well, NOT ANYMORE! This past Friday I took it for its regular oil change & not soon after, my car started and is sounding like a wreck. The motor sounds ridiculously loud as heck - if I hit 25mph or more, it sounds even worse.

They either messed w/ something else in my car or gave me the cheapest oil out there. I already contacted them & will be bringing the car in tomorrow. I'm expecting them to say there's nothing wrong w/ my car.. I want them to do a complete diagnostic on it & give me new oil while I watch!

For those car savvy readers out there - how do I prepare myself for tomorrow & what should I be ready to tell them - so that I don't end up looking like an idiot who knows nothing about cars (b/c...well... I know nothing about cars).

    Thanks for your help!

  • What do you look for in a short river cruise?

I posted a similar question earlier.. however, I am looking for specific features that may entice a tourist to take a short 1 hour or 2 hour cruise around the Hudson River b/w NJ & NYC... what are the services you would like to have offered - please be descriptive.. and, yes, we all know pricing is the key factor... I'm conducting a quick survey.

  • What are you looking for when traveling to NYC?

If you were only given one choice to experience the sights of New York city, which would be to take a cruise... what would you enjoy having on a cruise along the Hudson? For example, fine dining, live entertainment, welcome gifts? Would you expect to have these cruises combined w/ another form of tourist travel w/n the city? Describe your perfect NYC cruise - whether it's a family trip, a couple's night, friends hanging out, anniversaries... I am conducting a survey and wish to get the input of those who would be guests of the ferries in this area. What attracts you the most - what will entice you to visit NYC? Your positive input would be appreciated!

  • What is your take on reality shows these days?

Do you think TV is exploiting young people with sex, alcohol, defiance of the law and a myriad of other scandalous acts or do you feel that these reality shows are simply a way for the young generation to freely express themselves? Has it gone too far, can we regain our good ole, sappy American shows like Full House, The Cosby Show, Growing Pains, Webster & so forth? Has the media forgotten that there are still gullible children out in the world - children who are just starting to grow up & looking for a voice? I'd like for everyone to share their insight - are you pro or con? Thanks in advance for your answers!

  • What is the maximum allowance for child support in NJ?

My income has drastically changed. I have to cut back on my already-short work hours b/c I'm going back to school full-time. I have car insurance to pay for every month, rent, electric.. well, you name it I've got to pay for it... that's not including, of course, all the expenses of taking care of an adorable 2 year old. No one in my city seems to have any knowledge of child support laws (mind you, I'm referring to the employees who should know this stuff). I don't get much child support (just enough for say, milk). I need to know what the guidelines are as the NJ child support website is VERY vague.

How much can I get for one child when I know for a fact this "man" makes much more than I do.

  • How do you measure the square footage of a small living room?

Need to make sure I'm buying enough for a new hardwood flooring project I'm about to venture on. I am the worst @ figuring out distances or measurements - I can't calculate for the life of me and need anyone's expertise in this area! I have yet to actually measure my living room - I am going to assume it's 13 x something - not sure - well, I can tell you I have a large sofa, loveseat, 2 entertainment stands, 2 narrow bookcases, a small table amongst other items and I still have a huge space for my son to run around.... hope this helps a bit!

  • How do I fix a very old floor that is, as my landlord puts it, soft-wood?

I'd like to do a mini makeover in my living room as I am so tired of having wall to wall carpeting (very difficult to keep clean when you're a busy mom). I'd like to put down new flooring but have a very limited budget. My biggest obstacle is the type of wood I have - it's not hardwood & there's tons of cracks & splinters & nails that just won't budge. I know I should have the landlord do it but it's something I want to do as a sort of "therapy" - my own little escape from everyday stress. I know how to put new flooring in but don't know how to prep this old flooring... thanks for all your help in my conquest for what will be a very interesting DIY project!!

  • How safe are the ferry companies which service NY/NJ along the Hudson & East Rivers?

For all you locals & those of you abroad, too: do you agree that we are sitting ducks here? People want so badly to gain that normalcy we had before 9.11 but the truth is that NOTHING will ever be the same & we can't get too comfortable. There are so many plans that can put in action to safeguard our nation & I think we're doing absolutely nothing. For instance, these ferry companies which take on hundreds of passengers on a daily basis can be a target and it scares the HECK out of many of the locals, including me (we are also smack in the middle of the Lincoln & Holland Tunnels). I don't think those in charge are taking things too seriously. Honest opinions please!

  • What are the procedures for filing charges against someone?

Altercation occured b/w 1 woman & 3 other women, 1 man. When officer arrived, he took the side of the 3 women & man (b/c the woman screamin' like a maniac was beat up badly). The woman who was completely by herself, defending herself from 4 punks was not allowed to give her statement & was threatened to be taken in. The 3 women & the idiot punk man who kicked, pushed to ground, and punched lady (53) made false allegations as to how fight started & pressed charges - only evidence the woman who was alone has are the local department store cameras, which can prove that the 3 women started the fight & the other woman was simply defending herself. At no point in the report does it state that she was thrown to the ground, kicked, punched, & dragged not just by the women but the man too. When she went to file @ precinct was told she needed to find the officer & was not allowed to file. FYI: Italian cop sided w/ italian group who had fight w/ a hispanic woman... I see racism here!!

  • Car radio does not work?

Have a 1993 Chrysler Town & Country (just purchased car for work & school). It's old but runs great & couldn't beat the price. Only issue: radio doesn't work - when I try to turn it on, absolutely no sound, only thing I can hear is the clicking sound from one of the back speakers when I turn off the switch. Taking to a mechanic next week for tune-up, can this be fixed??
