Christians, what is wrong with people being Pagans and Witches?

I have been a Pagan and Witch since 1954 and I have never worshipped your devil, I have never done anything evil and I want to know why you can't give us a small place on this Earth to follow our beliefs in peace? Explain the purpose of demonizing people who you do agree with? Why does the child molesting/abusing point get pulled out pointed toward people whom you don't agree with? http://logosresourcepages.org/occul...

You say homosexuals abuse children also, why?

Hatred and intolerance is taught and Christians think it is alright to use any trick in the book to vilify people that they don't choose to like?

Update:

Coco, does this mean that as a Christian who doesn't do these things that you are going to lead Christians like yourself to work for change within your religion???

Update 2:

Fivescore, why do "you" not think that what your religion does effects all its members. Only Christians can clean up their act and it will have to be the ones who tired of being lumped within a group.

Update 3:

Dze, so Pagans are like evangelists. Who are these "wealthy" Pagans? And who have they manipulated to get this "weath"?

Update 4:

Beth are you willing to make room in our society for them or will you just stand by and watch more zealous Christians do whatever to force your negative belief on other.

Update 5:

Applechick, you have no clue what it is like to oppressed. Several months back the Pagan people were forced to sue the Veteran's Administrating to get the Pentacle accepted as a symbol of faith for our people. We were days before going to court when the VA settled. I wonder what that court action would have caused. Long story short, as a Christian did you hear about this or see it on the Nightly news??? I was a very quiet victory!

My website has more info and my emaill address for those who want to rant.

Update 6:

Foreverset, you are stating that all people on this planet are under your God's rule. That is pious ignorance! The quiet acceptance that all is right with the world and with enough tralala we silly Pagans will learn.

Hatred and ignorance is what *some* are taught-- not all Christians are against Pagans and homosexuals.

A long time ago the Christians tried to wipe out all Pagan groups. They spread lies that Pagans were of Satan so that everyone would hate Pagans. They said the Pagan Horned Man (Green Man of nature) was Satan. They also said Pagans sacrificed kids and such. Today we see some Christians lying about homosexuals and other groups, simply because they were taught to and need something to hate...but there's no excuse.

Basically, Paganism is about 8000+ older than Christianity, but Christians failed to wipe it out and instead decided to make everyone hate what they couldn't destroy. The Christian-Pagan war has been going on forever-- don't forget, Christianity started out seen as a cult and Pagans persecuted the Christians. It goes back and forth. But today, yes a lot of Pagans are discriminated against by their Christian counterparts.

That said, only close-minded people hate other religions just because they're taught to. It's just a few making the whole look bad, ignorant, and cruel. Don't hate them back, pity them for being taught nothing but ugly hatred.

In a secular society this should NOT be happening. Christians are free to practice their own religion but not impede on others.

I really hope the day comes when religion plays less a role in the lawmaking of a secular society, and I hope the intolerants of christianity stop giving you a hard time. Stay strong.

Ezekiel, this is a secular society. You have no right to demonize another for their beliefs, nor do you have the right to impose your religious beliefs on them.

In a free and secular society, there's not a damned thing wrong with believing whatever you want as long as you're not infringing on others. If someone should be run out of town for infringement, the Christians win it hands down. If anyone needs to be shaken down and brought into line, it's the Christians who have deluded themselves into believing that their beliefs create laws that everyone must follow. Not so.

Real Christians do not hate ANYONE. The Bible does say that if you do not serve God then you serve the devil, and I do believe that. We do not agree with those who believe different from us, but no more then you disagree with us. Those people who claim to be Christians, yet spout off hate and ridicule, are merely church goes...pew warmers I call them. If they knew their Bible better they wouldn't act like that. If they where real true Christians they would model the love of Jesus like the Bible (God's Word) says to adn pray for someone, not run them down. The Bible clearly states that to love God is the greatest commandment, to love man kind is the 2nd greatest. Do I agree with pagans, witches, devil worshipers, homosexuals, atheists, and so on? No. Do I hate them? No. I love everyone and wish no ill will. I love as Christ loves me, and I follow His word. That is being a true Christian.

You are going to practice your beliefs whether I give approval or not. The same is true of me. I am going to practice my religion whether you like it or not. Incidentally, it is not my place to give you, or anyone else for that matter, "a small place on this Earth". I don't point my fingers at anyone faction when a crime against a child has been committed. I also know gay people whom I would trust with my children, and that's a short list. You get angry at us for generalizing, and rightfully so, but aren't you doing the same thing in this post?

Christians certainly can't take the moral high ground when it comes to child molesting and abuse. There are criminals, pedophiles, and other assorted losers who claim to be every religion. Pagans are no better or no worse. As such, we should all respect each other's right to practice whatever religion we choose.

  • People who generalize other groups of people are dorks. I've seen them do it with priests and altar boys. It's positively embarrassing to listen to them make such fools of themselves. I usually keep silent, but your question brought out the worst in me. No use lumping all Christians together either. You fell into that trap as well. OOps!

These people can't even understand THEIR Bible and you expect them to deal with the millions of other people of other gods any biblical literalist knows must exist?

You have more faith in them then me by far.
