why dont people understand the difference between dog fighting and cock fighting?

Let me tell you how this works. Despite a few vegetarians and some hypocrites in this world, the cuter an animal is, teh closer we can relaye to it. You never hear anyone say anything about the fish or the chicken we eat? When was teh last time you saw a cute fish or chicken though? That is the way it works, the cuter, the more people feel for it.

I think it's for exactly what you said. I know in FL or other parts with high hispanic populations, co*k fighting is common(still illegal though), and you'll see the news stories about it, usually when the police find out about it. It is cruel, and those poor roosters look just awful afterwards. A friend of mine had some roosters, then later found out it's the ones they use for the fighting, gorgeous birds-beautiful colors, but they were so mean, constantly clawing/spurring at the others.

Boy... this question confused the heck out of me until I got allllll the way down to the bottom and saw the comment about roosters.

There is not as big a fuss because most people don't eat dogs and roosters are pretty tasty.

Horses vs Steers... people make a huge fuss over horse slaughterhouses... yet cattle killing seems to be just fine... depends on the culture

Rooster fighting is illegal in all states but one, and that's going to end soon, too. Cruelty is cruelty, regardless of what species it's being inflicted upon. Intelligent people realize this and that's why animal fighting of all types is being erradicated.

I care about all animals that are brainwashed to be vicious and lead horrible miserable painful lives. Its just so sad that people do this.
