It is good to give your laptop a rest. Further you should be mindful of wasting electricity - so it is good practice to power down.

The heat of leaving it on will slowly cook the laptop over the years. My Benq notebook just died after two and a half years of being left on like this. Motherboard fried. I found it convenient to be left on so that I could remote desktop into it from other places. Never again.

My previous laptop, a Toshiba Portege, got the same treatment, and was still ok after 3 years continuous use. It's now 6 years old and with its 2nd owner. So maybe build quality is also a factor.

I suggest set the laptop to go to Hibernate mode when it's been idle awhile.

I think it isn't good to leave your laptop on all the time. The laptop has to work all the harder and can overheat. Besides that - it is clearly a waste of electrical energy - something we could all learn to be a bit more responsible with.

No, your fine. Just make sure you have access to power supply and the computer is cooled.
