How do we, explaiin, to other kids our Child has ADHD, since the Teacher, and Principal think he is spoiled.?

My daughter's child, has ADHD, and this was his first day at school, he had already seen a Specialist who told her not to mention, what he had, so, when she went to pick him up, {mayhem} the Teacher said that my Grandson disrupted the Class, and would not sit down, and was bothering other Kids to make matters worse, the School could not find him, and my Daughter looked all over the School grounds, until she saw he was going out of the gate that they should have kept locked. Please if someone knows how we can manage him I would appreciate it{Serious Answers} Please. Is there other alternatives besides giving him Medication?

Update:

I forgot to add that my Grandson, is Five years old and this is the first day of being enrolled in a School. My daughter thought that it would be better for him to wait to be in School until he got older. he is so smart that he can use the Computer better than I can, and he remembers everything you tell him. Even the Doctor said that he is the second patient he has that is very smart. So, it baffles us as to why he acts the way he does. my Granson realizes he misbehaves but he says he cannot get rid of his bad moods.

You need to tell the school that he has adhd and if they do not understand that. Get the school to talk to the specialist for your son. Cause I know how it feel because my son is autisic and lot of people cant handle that. Your son will probly needs his own teacher with him when he is in school to help him out. And when he distrubes classes the teacher that is assigned to him can take him outside to get his mind on other things. And when his calm down he will be ready to go back to class. But you need to tell the teachers and the school board that. And it is the school reseasonblitiies to get him. His own teacher.

You should sit him down and have a talk with him.

tell him if the teacher tells you he behaved you will go out for ice cream or give him a peice of candy. or if he does it for a whole week he can get a toy from the dollar store.

Positive reinforcement is the only way.

    dont drug him :]

it is not easy to answer your question.at this time the teachers should aware about ADHD. you should go to the higher level. the district and state education department to tackle this, also needs support from child psychologist.

then these student should be placed in a centre for learning disability group.

There is no such thing as Adhd,or Add, Or Ads

When I went to school our medication for not paying attention was a smack on the *** or a crack on the knuckles.

It made us pay attention real quick...
