Does it bother you a lot when you go to take a bite of a piece of fruit and it's all dry and mushey?

Instead of nice and juicy. That happened with my peach just now.

Because I'm a grocery store owner, I know a little bit about this. Red delicious apples are a very mushy apple by nature. If you get them crisp, the trade off is you have very little flavor. At this time of year peaches and nectarines are waning and yes mushy. Dry is enough for me to ask for my money back. Peaches should never be dry. Crunchy peaches are a sign of a new crop as are crunchy nectarines. But I prefer my nectarines crunchy. The pit removes easily for one thing and the meat is still sweet. The problem with berries is they have a very short shelf life. Blueberries tend to hold up better than blackberries and raspberries. Strawberries have a day or two more shelf life in them. And, last of all, I don't like bitter fruit. Yuck!

Yes, especially when you are all set to enjoy a juicy firm piece of fruit.

Yep. It also bothers me to buy a bag of oranges, only to get them home and find out they're not sweet, and have skins so thick there's barely any orange inside. And strawberries or grapes that aren't sweet. Fruit is too darn expensive to have it be yucky!

Yes it bothers me a lot. I only like fruit that is fresh, firm and has a nice crunchy bite. I like it cold.

That's the worst, and also when you go to bite it and it's hard and bitter. I love peaches, but only when they're perfect! :)
