I am 20 years old and attend Utah State University. I'm 5' 3'' with green eyes and I'm naturally a strawberry blonde but a few months decided to have some fun and dye it dark brown. I basically LOVE it :) . I am the middle of five children and I'm really close to all of my siblings and I'm gonna be an aunt of a cute little niece in January :)

  • Basics I should know about Catholicism?

I'm going to live in Rome, Italy for the next year and a half and I've realized I only know the bare minimum about the beliefs of Catholics. I realize that many Italians aren't practicing Catholics but the topic is of interest of me so I'd like to know more that I may be able to continue my understanding while I am there. Can I just get a summary/details (of varying lengths) of different doctrinal points I should know specific to JUST Roman Catholicism? i.e. The Trinity, the Crucifixion of Christ, priesthood keys, Heaven vs Hell . . . Thanks!

  • Different symptoms of ACL tear?

When my mom was my age she went skiing for the first time and fell repeatedly. Finally a fall was bad enough that she blew out her knee. She went to the ER but they didn't diagnose her with anything and never returned to the DR. In May of 2009 I wrecked my dirt bike and heard a loud pop and believed my ACL to be torn. But because my knee wasn't as swollen as my mom's had been and because I had no bruising my parents believed me to be okay and I never went to the doctor. A month and a half ago I finally had an MRI and it turns out I had a full ACL and medial mensicus tear and I have gone through re-constructive surgery. Out of curiosity my mom also had her knee checked and her ACL has been torn for almost 26 years. Why is it that our symptoms were so different when our injuries were the same? Why would her knee have been black and blue while mine only swelled? Was it due to the means of injury, that mine was fast and occurred within seconds while her's was from repeatedly twisting the joint from falling until the stress was too much? Thanks! Just curious!

  • Stitches after knee (ACL reconstructive) surgery?

I had ACL reconstrutive surgery last Monday (August 16) so it has now been 9 days. I don't have another follow up appointment with my surgeon for two weeks and I was wondering when it would be alright to remove the adhesive tape over my incisions. I "snuck" a peak under by peeling the tape back and it looks like the surgeon used dissolvable stitches. I'm anxious to be able to shower instead of bathing with my leg hanging out of the bathtub, but I don't want to risk an infection or bleeding by removing the tape too soon. Thanks for any advice!

  • I have a burn from my straightener?

I had forgotten that my straightener/flat iron was on and ran my thumb along the edge of the heated plate to rub off some residue before i realized the pain. The straightener was heated to 410* F but after about a half hour the pain was gone. It is on the tip of my thumb (about a third of an inch in length) and it hasn't blistered. Instead the outer layer of skin has sunken slightly, is smooth to the touch, and has become transparent. Through the that I can see that the under layers have turned white. Is this a burn I should be concerned about? As I said before I feel no pain so it's not interfering with my life in anyway.

  • Hair damage/breakage?

The ends of my hair are really damaged and when I wash my hair in the shower I notice short little ends that break off. My hair isn't very long (right around my shoulders) and I get my hair cut every couple months. Is there a way that I can prevent/repair it? I already use Paul Mitchell's strengthening shampoo and conditioner and I'm due for a hair cut next week but I don't really want this to continue to be a problem.

  • Clumpy Lengthening Mascara?

I've never had problems applying mascara before and having it look clumpy and unnatural. But I recently bought a new brand of lengthening mascara and I can't happen to apply it without it getting incredibly lumpy/clumpy looking. Am I just doing it the wrong way since I've only ever used Great Lash by Maybelline and different volumizing mascara?

  • I have a suspected ACL tear. Can a family physician diagnose it?

Do I need to see a specialist to find out what sort of injury has effected my knee or can any licensed MD diagnose it?

  • I think I may have torn my ACL but I'm not sure. It's been almost two months, what would be the symptoms?

My dirt bike fell while I was riding it and pulled my lower left leg out while I fell to my right. After a minute or two of shock I could limp back to my house but that night and the following day I couldn't put any weight on that leg or jostle it at all without it hurting badly. it's been about a month and a half and I can walk on it now just fine without it hurting but it's not completely stable. It's as if the healing sort of just leveled off. Twice I've strained it too much by turning on my leg quickly and I heard it pop/grind. The first time my knee gave out completely and I fell (two weeks after initial injury) and the second time it hurt for a few seconds before I was able to walk again (just a little over a month after the initial injury). After both incidents my knee became swollen for a few days and was sore but I was able to still walk. Any insights as to what I could have done would be much appreciated! :D

  • Knee injury after dirt bike incident?

I was riding my dirt bike and I was taking a turn sharp and I start to fall the opposite way that the bike was going so it pulled my left leg out and then fell on it. It's still swollen and until yesterday it's still been swollen and I've been unable to bend it more than ninety degrees or straighten it completely. Last night though I was playing "signs" and I was standing up and spun around to fast on my bad leg and it gave out as everyone else in the room heard it grinding and I fell. I wasn't able to get up for about a minute cause of the pain but after that it was a little achy but I was fine. The strange this is is that now I can bend my knee. It's more sore than before but I have more motion . . . I have yet to go to the doctor so does anyone have any ideas as to what the initial injury was or anything at all? Thanks!

  • Just open this question . . . please?

So I realize this is probably THE most asked question in this section, but here we go . . . so I just began the summer semester at school a month ago, and when I moved up to campus the only person I knew was a friend from high school (let's call her Michelle). I started hanging out with her and I'm always at her apartment complex. Because of this I've become friends with all of her friends. Here's where all the trouble starts. I really like her neighbor (his name will be Tyson), but he likes her, she likes my brother's roommate (I'll call him Chad), and my brother (I'm feeling Steven) likes her . . . a very twisted web, I know. Well "Michelle" was out of town for the fourth of July but I stayed and hung out at her apartment with "Tyson" and some other people . . . We all really get along and now I like him even more, but I don't know what is the best way to show "Tyson".I'm interested considering he likes my friend. If this makes sense I'd appreciate some input! THANKS!

  • Sleep Deprivation?

I am fully aware that my sleeping habits are terrible. I stay up from anywhere between two thirty and four every night and most mornings I have to wake up at six for classes. At first I was able to crash in the afternoon and be fine when I woke up, but the past couple of days I can't sleep even though I want to. I will toss and turn for hours trying to get the sleep I know my body needs, but it's no use, I just can't sleep. Even mornings when I can sleep in I still can't sleep past eight o'clock. Why is this? I'm sure if I began with a healthy sleeping cycle it would eventually return to normal, but is there a reason my body won't let me rest? Any thing is welcome!

  • Hair dye removers?

So my brother's a genius . . . he's a natural blonde and him and his friend thought it would be cool to dye their hair jet black. As you can imagine, blonde eyebrows don't look the best with that hair color . . . anyways, he's decided to strip the color out. What is a good product he can use from Wal-mart or another store like it?

  • Being a friend? Anyone can answer!?

I am LDS and one of my good friends has made friends with the wrong crowd. She spends time at parties where everyone is smoking joints, one of her close friends deals drugs (my friend is sometimes the driver) and she's tried alcohol . . . None of her decisions could ever effect our friendship but I want to help her start making the right choices. I don't feel it my responsibility to change people, but she told me that she wants to do better and she realizes the things she has been doing are wrong. The transition is difficult for her though, and even though I've noticed a change since we've been spending time together, I want to know if there's anymore I can do. What is the best way I can encourage her to be more active in the church and to read her scriptures without making her feel attacked or judged? For those of you who have turned your life around (whether LDS or not) how did you accomplish this and how did you friends help? The last thing I want to do is push her away.
