Stitches after knee (ACL reconstructive) surgery?
I had ACL reconstrutive surgery last Monday (August 16) so it has now been 9 days. I don't have another follow up appointment with my surgeon for two weeks and I was wondering when it would be alright to remove the adhesive tape over my incisions. I "snuck" a peak under by peeling the tape back and it looks like the surgeon used dissolvable stitches. I'm anxious to be able to shower instead of bathing with my leg hanging out of the bathtub, but I don't want to risk an infection or bleeding by removing the tape too soon. Thanks for any advice!

do not remove the bandages. they have to stay on for two-three weeks so they can heal. but you can take a shower. to take extra precaution you could put an ace bandage around your knee. when i did mine i always took a shower and nothing happened. just make sure it doesnt get wet

I only had menial meniscus surgical treatment with cyst eliminating, and so on. Your knee cap will swell up a honest quantity. save it better and save ice on it as a lot as available. it is going to likely be complicated to stroll on for the first 2-3 weeks. make confident you bypass to some actual treatment.
