what should I do about quitting my job ?

I'm having a meeting with my boss in 40 m. he wants to talk about moving me to another area of the company at another city.

I'm thinking about quitting today , I don't realy like my job and I found a new one, should I tell him right now? or wait untill the meeting is over ?

Let him talk first, he may say something that makes you think about staying.

If you love the idea of the job in the company and the new city and they will pay for your move you might consider it.

If you consider it and don't want it let them know you have had another and consider that a better career move for you so will need to give notice instead of accepting the transfer.

Has the new job actually been offered to you and have you accepted?

If the new company has extended an offer to you and you accepted - it can't hurt to hear what your boss has to say. He may make a better offer.

If after hearing your boss out, tell him that you appreciate the opportunity to work for xzy company. However, you have accepted a position at another company. Give a minimum of two weeks notice. More if possible.

Go ahead and tell him you are qutting. Just let him know the date you will be resigning, which is presumably a few days before you start your other job.

It's always good not to burn bridges. Don't tell him you didn't like the job. You never know, you might need a job there again, or need the boss as a reference.

Always give at least a weeks notice, but ONLY if you have the new job for certain.

PS. Don't burn bridges. Be nice when you quit.

She was in shock, but oh well - I am much happier now

as soon as you find a new job, you should tell your bosses, and work a two week notice.
