What can I use to remove paint spray/splatter from laminate flooring?
My painter left paint spray/splatter all over my laminate flooring. I don't know if the paint he used was latex or oil based. What can I buy at my local Lowes or Home Depot that will remove the fine paint spray and splatter?
Thanks Stephanie H.
Believe me I have tried to get the painter to clean up his work. He promised to do it, but has failed to even return my calls. I appreciate the good advice.

Goof off is a good product, but the fumes are noxious. I am a painter, and my favorite product is krud cutter. It smells more like a detergent, but will remove dried latex paint well. If the paint was oil based, try your fingernail. Laminate flooring has a tough surface, that is resistant to scratching, so if your fingernail doesn't work, a putty knife with rounded corners can be used, if you are careful. Both goof off, and Krud cutter can be found at most home improvement centers or paint stores. If you have a a lot of it, get your painter back to clean it. On second thought, no reputable painter would have left this mess, so hire a reputable painter to clean it up, and send the bill to the one that is responsible. If he/she is reluctant to pay for it........small claims court would be your best option, but make sure you have photos as evidence.

Your remodeling your kitchen making it look better; no matter what you do when trying to remove the paint it won't look right when it's finished and it has to pass an inspection by her in doors. The boards will come up one at a time, take one up and find a match; there's shops out there that just deal in laminated floors, and yes you may have to buy a pack but it will look perfect, Good luck with that.

I just cleaned paint off my vinyl floor in the kitchen with "goof off". It also removes paint from wood, laminate floors, just about anywhere. It even works on carpet. Make sure you open your windows when using it though. Just put a little bit on a rag and wipe up the paint. It is really that easy. You can buy it a Lowe's or Home Depot.

I just had a similar problem with removing paint from tile & a counter top. I found that using warm water & the scrubby side of a sponge was all it needed to lift off the paint without damaging the finish of the tile or counter.
If this doesn't work, contact the painter and tell them that they have to clean up their mess or else you will see them in small claims court to cover the cost of cleaning/replacing that portion of the floor.

If it is a true laminate flooring, than it should come right off, when you mop, or just take a sponge a clean it up, laminate has a coating over and paint should not stick to it.

Laminate is awesome! You will be so surprised. Just get a dishsponge with a rough/abrasive side. I use the yellow ones with a green side. Use a litttle bit of dishwashing liquid in lukewarm water. It will come right off!!!

Ah the joys of laminate. Wipe it up with water. If you need it use a little acetone. Spray your with laminate cleaner and wipe up with your mop. Don't use anything abrasive or swab the deck with water. No standing water.

I would use the finest steel wool you can buy. That should take it all up.
