she meant that you are measuring 29 weeks pregnant hun.

Fundal height, or MacDonald's rule, is a measure of the size of the uterus used to assess fetal growth and development. It is measured from the top of the pubic bone to the top of the uterus in centimeters. It should match the fetus' gestational age in weeks within 1 to 3 cm, e.g., a pregnant woman's uterus at 22 weeks should measure 19 to 25 cm.

A shorter measure can happen for one of the following reasons:

Fetus descent into the pelvis, seen normally two to four weeks before delivery

Error in estimated date of conception

Fetus is healthy but physically small

    Oligohydramnios

    Fetus positioned sideways

    Breech birth

    Small for gestational age

On the other side, a longer measure can be caused by:

    Twins, or more

Error in estimated date of conception

Fetus is healthy but physically large

    Polyhydramnios

    Large for gestational age

    Hydatidiform Mole

As a pregnancy approaches its end, the fundal height will become less accurate.

It is very important that the patient's fundal height be measured and properly recorded by their OB/GYNE or midwife on every prenatal visit. Measuring the fundal height is an indicator of proper fetal growth and amniotic fluid development.

going by that info, its nothing to worry about and totally normal to be a couple of cm's out.M MW doesnt even measure me with a tape, she just feels my bump.Good luck hun and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy x

Measuring of the uterus is not an exact science because every woman's body, and every woman's baby is different. In most cases, the measurement of your uterus (fundal height) is measured in cm and it should be approximately the same number of weeks you are pregnant. The rule of thumb is that if you are measuring within 2 weeks (cm) of your due date in either direction, you're totally fine and normal. Even a measurement off by more than 2 weeks can still be normal, although some doctors might want to do an ultrasound to properly measure the baby's growth to make sure everything is fine.

You're bump is 29cm and that means you are measuring 29 weeks pregnant. You can be two weeks over or two weeks under.

you are measuring 29 weeks pregnant. this is nothing to worry about, you could be carrying a little extra fluid or maybe the baby is a little bigger. those measurements do not account for bigger babies. My son was 9lb 3oz and i always measured between 2 and 3 weeks farther ahead.

When they measure your stomach they measure how high above your pubic bone your uterus is, it is approximately 1cm for every week of pregnancy.

So you measured 29 weeks :P

And the discrepancy in weeks (and who measures) is totally normal it accounts for your babies growth, your body size and where exactly someone starts measuring from etc.

They measure for an idea of how things are going and to see some growth progress without having to have costly ultrasounds all the time.

    Good luck and relax

You are measuring 29 weeks. Don't worry, I always measured bigger so they a sono and said I was having a big baby.

the measurement of your tummy is called the fundal height and usually should correspond to how many weeks pregnant you are but as you midwife said a different person could measure you and get a slightly different measurement, if you are genuinely measuring larger then it means you are more pregnant than you thought or you have a big baby
