Suggestions on where to find a white toddler shirt with red stripes?
I'm looking for a white t-shirt with red stripes similar to Max's from Max and Ruby in a boys 3T or 4T. Here's a link to a picture of Max if you aren't familiar with the cartoon: http://www.noggin.com/games/img/pho110x110mr_toybo...
I'd like to put together a Halloween costume for my son. Unfortunately I don't sew, so I'm hoping to find a ready made shirt that is similar. I've tried the websites I could think of (Wal-Mart, Target, Children's Place, Sears, K-Mart, Gap, Old Navy, Craigslist) that sell toddler's clothes -- what suggestions do you have?
4 AnswersToddler & Preschooler1 decade agoMy child has an itchy rash with no fever or other symptoms?
My 20 month old has a pink raised bumpy rash nearly all over his body. It's concentrated on the belly, chest, and back, the worst looking splotches are near his armpits. He has these bumps on his face (eyelids), behind his ears, nape of his neck, and a few on his thighs. They differ in size from pinhead to maybe a centimeter. The pediatrician said it's viral (similar to Fifth's Disease or Roseola but neither of those), he's unsure of the exact virus though. We were instructed to just treat the itching unless other symptoms develop. My mom's neighbor who just got back from Kissimmee, FL (we live in KY) saw it and said there were all kinds of people in the clinic down there with it.
So two questions -- has your child had anything that sounds like this, and did you get a different diagnosis? Any idea of a place on the web where I might be able to find a "What's going around" article for central FL?
2 AnswersToddler & Preschooler1 decade agoHave you noticed rate increases for your credit card(s)?
I'm wondering if the credit card companies are jacking up all their rates before the new bill in 2010 goes into affect or something? Between my husband and I we have received notices in the last couple of months that the APR is increasing on three separate accounts -- we can reject it by cancelling our card. Two were Bank of America and one was Chase. All accounts are in good standing with 5--8 years of history and low balances in relationship to the limit -- in fact there's only one we carry a balance on for more than 2 or 3 months -- the other two have no balance as of now. What's going on? Is this something everyone is experiencing? We have no blemishes on our credit so I'm confused.
2 AnswersCredit1 decade agoDo you have any tips for getting an 18 month old to sleep in a toddler bed?
Last weekend I converted my son's crib to a toddler bed. He's been able to climb out of his crib for quite awhile now, but until last week it was very infrequent. Then he decided instead of going to bed he'd rather just climb out over and over like it was a funny game. Until then when he was tired we would lay him down and after a minute or two of protest whining he was sound asleep. Now he sobs "Nighty-Night" over and over at bedtime and refuses to lay in his newly converted bed, or even in my bed with me. Rocking while restraining him for a half hour to an hour while he screams and sobs is all that seems to be working lately. Eventually he gives in and goes to sleep, but even then he gets up in the middle of the night and comes and joins my husband and I. I'd love to hear about anything that worked for you in a similar situation.

9 AnswersCleaning & Laundry1 decade agoWhat inexpensive toy did/does your 2 year old really enjoy?
I'd like to buy my cousin an inexpensive toy (under $10) for her 2nd birthday. I already got her an outfit (but of course that's no fun for her), so I'd like to pick up something small that will be fun. Any suggestions?
9 AnswersToddler & Preschooler1 decade agoDo you celebrate St. Nick's Day? ?
St. Nick will be visiting my house tonight to fill my son's stocking. I'm not 100% sure the origin of this tradition -- depending on who you ask -- some say it's German others say Dutch or Catholic. If you don't celebrate, have you heard of this tradition?

6 AnswersPolls & Surveys1 decade agoWhat are some fun songs for young children and parents?
I'm looking for popular music not children's songs that are fun for both parents and young children. Rock, Pop, Country, etc . . . fun upbeat "G" rated songs. Such as "Don't Worry, Be Happy" and many of Queen's songs.
4 AnswersParenting1 decade agoAre tropical/salt water fish difficult to keep alive?
I'm considering getting an aquarium and stocking it with salt water fish. I've never had fish other than goldfish and that was when I was a kid -- and it seemed like they always died. Is it easy to keep tropical fish (like clownfish for example) alive?

I'm just interested in what you remember . . . not so much what history books say.
32 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoTips for style or brand of infant/toddler shoes for a child with thick feet?
My 10 month old has thick feet and I've been having a difficult time trying to find shoes that fit him properly. It seems like I have to buy shoes that are a size too big or else his feet won't go down in them, and then he just pulls them off. He's just starting to walk, so I'd like to have shoes for him for outdoors -- inside he just goes in socks or barefoot. Any suggestions?

3 AnswersCooking & Recipes1 decade agoParents of 2 or more, did you save your first child's clothes?
If so to what extent did you end up reusing the clothes? I've been saving my son's clothes to use for future children, but I'm wondering if it will end up being a waste of storage space?

On anything, utilities, food, clothes, gas, etc.
For example I buy most of my meat in bulk, and then divide it up myself before freezing it.

If so, which company did you choose? I've been debating taking advantage of Gerber's Grow Up Great plan . . . but I just can't decide.
