Parents of 2 or more, did you save your first child's clothes?

If so to what extent did you end up reusing the clothes? I've been saving my son's clothes to use for future children, but I'm wondering if it will end up being a waste of storage space?

I wanted to save everything. Its just hard to realize your baby is not little any more so what my husband and I settled on is we set aside one whole outfit for each child so when they are adults I can make something out of them for my children and then we saved a weeks worth of clothes for each age bracket 0-3 months 3-6 months and so on. This way instead of having a huge closet full of clothes collecting dust I had enough to supply one week so I would be able to cloth them until we had more. We then donated the rest to a lady at the hospital who takes care of the surrendered baby's until they find a home. You can donate them anywhere but a non profit organization that doesn't sell them I feel is best. Now I have 1 box of baby clothes in case we have more. I f we don't I still have a box of memories and was able to help someone out in the process.

I have 2 girls, ages 10 and 12. I thought it would be perfect to save my older daughter's clothes because one was born in Sept. and the other in Nov. so the seasons should have matched perfectly. The problem is that my older daughter is much taller than my younger. She was wearing a size 10 at age 7 because she was so tall (she's 5'3" now and just turned 12). I also had to have the waist altered on all the pants because she was too thin for the sizes she needed for length. My younger daughter is 10 and still wears a size 7/8. Needless to say, the saving thing didn't work out so well for me. I've kept things like nicer dresses and such, but other than that I don't keep clothing to hand down any longer.

I saved all my daughters clothes that were in good condition and I am glad I did! I am having another girl and I have a fully stocked closet without spending any money! Of course I have supplemented a bit and bought a few new things (I just couldn't resist). But, since we aren't having to spend tons on new clothes we are able to buy the other things we need like diapers, a double stroller and so on. I think saving the clothes is a good idea financially, you can always sell or donate at a later date, you can never get the clothes back though once they are gone!

  • We saved 1/2 of my daughters clothes that were newborn-2t. We traded the other half of hers, for my sons whole wardrobe newborn-3t.

So now we are having our 3rd and last, it's been confirmed as a girl 3 times, and I have another ultrasound @ 28 weeks. So either way, we have 100% of clothes covered!

They have more clothes than we have room for! 2 closets, 3 dressers, and still have 4-5 large moving boxes full of stored clothes, and 2 under the bed bins. I'm getting ready to start selling a lot of it off actually, because we can't use all of it.

Mine will be 4, and 1 when the new baby arrives. Our second living room is where we store all of their clothes and toys that have been out grown, or are too big! I want to start using that room, so we need to get rid of at least 1/2 of what we have for them clothes wise. (AAAHHHH)

packed it all, put away real safe, had two eptopics a divorce and ten years later another baby boy - they say its bad luck -maybe it is but i did use it again and there was something really nice about it and it saved a bit of cash ! if you got the space do it, brings so many good thoughts back , its also good to reuse for the enviroment so hand it on if you dont want to keep. hope you get to use it again soon !

i had mainly white sleep suits and vests (didnt know gender before birth) so the little things that dont get any ware or solid food stains! are always handy and the cute stuff always brings a smile!

I saved all my kids clothes and I was glad I did. I have 4 boys and have been able to pass the clothes down through them all. I make a point to buy mostly good clothing so it will last. My youngest son is 5 1/2 years younger than my oldest and he is wearing clothes they wore when they were his age.

It's wirth it. I've hardly had to buy any clothes for my youngest. I also make sure to take good care fo them. I wash everything on delicate, use stain removers and I hang all shirts to dry so they won't shrink over time or fade in the dryer.

I saved many of them. I did not have to buy any new clothes for school this year on account I stored 10 pairs of long pants and 15 shirts all in near new or excellent shape. I have saved at least $1000 on clothing by saving.

I didn't save their infant clothes just because I had taking up space but once I found out I was pregnant with another boy, I started saving.

Clothes can get expensive so having some bum around clothes for outside play is great. I usually buy a few new outfits for him just to have for outings but the hand me downs work great for every day wear.

shop an emergency fund and by no potential enable it drop below 1k. ensure you're making adequate money to maintain up with the month-to-month expenses. Daycare is around $six hundred-$800 a month. it truly is been 10 years because of the fact I had a newborn uncertain what formula fee now whether it replace into intense whilst mine have been little. Plus you will need money for co-pays whilst they get unwell or desire their photos. Diapers are costly. They outgrow clothing rapidly.

Considering the fact that my first was a girl and second a boy i was not able to re-use them. I did however keep my daughter's easter dresses and her christmas outfits. I use the vacuum bags that you suck the air out for storage and place them in the closet. I do the same for my son (even though i am not having anymore children). In a way i guess i do it because of memories. My daughter is 7 and she loves to go in and see what kind of clothes she had and how small they were.
