Why are some of my picks in college pick 'ems saying that I got them wrong...when I didn't?
I picked VT, Arkansas, Auburn, USC, and Texas to win. They won and the system said that my picks were incorrect. What's up with that? Is it a point spread thing? Did everyone else get those picks wrong as well?

Its not asking if they win or lose..... In that final column, it says a certain amount of points (i.e. 24)... That means the team you pick has to beat the other team by 24 or more points.... If they dont, then you lose the spread...
Addition... If you think the losing team is going to lose, but not by more than 23 points, then you want to pick the losing team... Your are voting on the point spread, not the winner/loser...

It is the point spread thing. You picked USC last week and the point spread was something like 45.0. That means USC has to win by at least 46. They won by 28, that's why you got it wrong. No, I didn't get all of those wrong. That's why college football pick em isn't so easy as it sounds, because the point spread brings the challenege.

With Yahoo College pick-em, the team you pick has to cover the favored spread. For example, if Va Tech was favored over ECU by 14 and you picked Va Tech, you were incorrect because they only won by 10. It took me awhile to figure that out too, but they set it up that way to make it more difficult. It makes you examine each team's strengths and weaknesses more.

Yeah, you must have missed the point spreads. VT squeaked by when they were favored to win by more, for example.
Not sure why i get a thumbs down for that. Because seriously, those teams didn't cover the spread last week. Blame Vegas, not me.

I think it does have to do with the spread, because I don't think any of those teams covered the spread. I know VT, Texas and USC didn't.
