* Hey "R&S" people: Check THIS out! Yahoo's NEW "Community Moderation System" Guidelines! * ("God" help Us!)

This is in all seriousness, for Christians & Their Rivals ALIKE!

Check out the "New" revised "Guidelines", found on the Yahoo "Q&A" Home Page!

(If THIS isn't encouragement to turn Us even farther against each other, I don't know what is!!! )

This forum features Three main tenets:

"What Does It Mean To Be A Trusted Reporter?"

"How Do I Know Whether To Report a Question or Answer?"

"What If I Am Incorrectly Reported For Abuse By the Community?"

HURRY, before this post is Deleted by the Authorities, as SO many of My posts are!!! IF, whether you are Christian OR Atheist, but NOT a Snitch, this affects YOU!

Here’s a link to the blog in question.

Yeah, that IS very troubling. As with all their other updates, it can go either way.

Here's a quote from the Yahoo Answers blog:

"Community members who build a record of correctly reporting questions and answers that violate our guidelines will become a trusted reporter and gain influence when they report. On the other hand, misuse of the new system will result in a lowered reputation. A low reputation means that the power to report and remove potential abuse is diminished, and may even risk suspension."

So this means if someone is a report trigger happy person, hopefully Yahoo will not pay attention ? Hmm. This would be good.

Yahzmin and Sombra give you the correct information: Posting the word "edit" to indicate "additional or changes" to your answer is NOT against the rules. Other words such as "add", * or ---> are also often used to indicate such additions. What you (and others who replied) are misunderstanding is the violation caused by using the word "edit" as the ENTIRE answer, usually used as a temporary place holder while a real answer is composed, which later replaces the word "edit". This is most often seen in avatar games and in Qs where it's noted "10pts to first to answer" and such. You are confusing the two completely different uses for the word; the allowable use of the word to indicate additions/changes to your answer with the violating use of the word as a place holder. To be clear: Posting the word "edit" to be used as a place holder while you are off composing an answer IS a violation and can be reported as such. Posting the word "edit" to add comments to an already existing answer is NOT a violation and a perfectly legal use of the word. Follow the link given by Yahzmin for the official distinction.

I just received three violations this morning so the vigilantes are out in force. Don't let it bother you. Everyone at one time prayed for answers so we find answers and people willing to answer then we get scared and destroy it.

Remember it's all just a reflection of ourselves back to ourselves and for the moment part of me wishes to remain in darkness. I awake at my own pace.

The ember that is to start the flame that will burn the universe has already done it's part so all is well. Within victory lies defeat and within defeat lies victory.

It could be a good thing. I think they are just trying to cut down on those who report everyone who disagrees with them.

Those who report too often may find that ability taken away.

Darn it, that page couldn't be found. Their guidelines are absolutely ridiculous. I don't think it will be long before people just quit coming on here. Maybe it would be better to find another place to go. I don't know, I will just wait and see.

    Hopefully nothing will change

I don't see the problem unless you want to report people only because you don't agree with them.

If you only report the ones who are cussing, using hate speech or soliciting children, it won't get you in trouble.

I tried to click on the URL and it said that the page was not found? I would like to read it.

That flag is like a BIG red button with the words "Don't push me" written on it. Some people just cant resist. Trouble ahead.
