we are to "examine" ourselves to see if we are in the faith.

what does it mean to examine? It means to look at your life, compared to your confession. Does it match up? does your confession show proof positive through your actions that you are in the faith?

My beliefs about everything I believe in are constantly under a personal microscope to the extent I'm able to maintain it.

Sometimes I get lazy, sometimes only partly successful, but I try.

  • Lots of people do. I think its arrogant and quite honestly, foolish to assume people dont put their beliefs about God under the microscope and question them thoroughly.

You mean under a scientific microscope, as in a scientific point of view? I try but it only sees half the truth. You can't put spirit under a microscope.

What does "under the microscope" mean? You mean examine my beliefs. When you know the the truth you do not really need to examine it anymore, you just need to figure out what you are supposed to do with it.

Not many. Religion actually discourages this. If you go to a Sunday sermon most places, the preacher will warn his listeners against "temptation" or being "led astray." The very act of thinking that your religion might be wrong becomes a sin. So, it's very difficult to break that indoctrination in many cases.
