  • How can a "Bible based" religion deny modern revelation and the need for Apostles and Prophets?

I am trying to figure out how it's possible to claim to be Bible based and deny revelation when the Bible is clear on the need for it. The Bible doesnt ever state God has nothing else to say. In fact, the scriptures speak of God revealing Himself in the last days when He gathers Israel again all the time.

How can you be Bible based and deny any of the gifts of the Spirit? It just doesnt make sense to me. Yet there are so many people who state they follow Christ who deny the gifts of God.

  • How do you know your faith is correct?

Why do you believe that your faith is correct? How did you find out it's true? Why do you believe it if you don't think it's true?

This applies to non-belief as well. How do you know you're correct?

  • Where are the Apostles at?

The scriptures are clear that Christ's Church is built on the foundation of Apostles and Prophets with Christ being the chief cornerstone. (Eph 2:19). Paul was also clear that the Lord gave us Apostle for our edification until we all come to a unity of faith. (Eph 4).

When Apostles were killed, others were ordained in their place. Judas was replaced. James was replaced. In fact, the Apostle Paul was not one of the originals. He was one who was called to be an Apostle after others had died.

Christianity is not unified. You could go into any Christian Church and find a thousand contradictory things preached, all claiming the Bible as their authority. So where are the Apostles? Where are they who can truly give the Holy Ghost?

  • Why do people ask the most worthless religion questions?

Seriously, we can ask and talk about interesting aspects of tons of good religions, and the only questions showing up are questions about masterbation, cuddling with bf/gfs, or questions about how people are stupid to believe something. Is it that freakin difficult to formulate a religious question that has some meat to it? Or do we have to sit around all day and read questions about evolution, sex, or any shallow religious questions that could be looked up with five minutes of effort instead of actual substance?

Are there no serious religious questions? Or are people really so naive and shallow they can't think up anything good?

  • Can you believe this woman?

Apparently $169,000 isnt enough to live off. She needs government assistance to help her cause those big bad banks tricked her into buying 3 homes and she cant manage the payments.

    http://www.glennbeck.com/content/articles/article/...

And she has her hands on the finances of this country. No wonder our nation is so crappy. We have women like this in Congress.

  • For anyone who has had a vision: How does it work?

I know alot of visions are sacred experiences and I am not asking for an explanation of what you might have seen. I am curious at the mechanics behind it. How did you see it? what did it feel like? etc.

  • Why don't people believe in revelation today?

I don't understand how any of you who believe in the scriptures and that God has revealed His Word to people in the past have such a hard time believing in Divine communication nowadays? how can you limit God's statements to the past and say He doesnt speak now? I just dont understand it. If you aren't recieving revelation it's not because of God, but because you arent listening.

  • Why reject a free Book of Mormon?

Been sitting here thinking, why are people afraid to read the Book of Mormon? We have millions we can give away for free. What the heck is the harm in taking a free book and reading it? Simply reading it doesnt mean you necessarily believe it. But what do you have to lose? You read it and you don't agree, okay you've just learned something. You still benefit. But if you read it and find out that its true than you've just gained the blessings of heaven.

And the beauty of it is the book has the promise that you can ask God whether its true. No one expects you to believe it out of blind obedience. You are supposed to investigate and find out. We want you to.

Even if you think you want to reject it atleast reject it knowing what the heck it actually says without relying on other people. Make a conscious choice on your own. Find out for yourself.

    Why is that so hard?
