Some you can start with are:

    Kundalini yoga

    Hatha Yoga

    Vinyasa Yoga

    Iyengar Yoga

    Bikram Yoga

try Googling "what is (insert yoga type here)"

and see what comes up. you can get some clues as to what to google next as you learn more as you read different sites.

Research means you will have to interpret the information you get and put it all together as you read from different sources. If you are lucky, you will find one source that explains it simply, but chances are you won't, as each of the disciplines of yoga can be very complicated.

What I know of Kundalini yoga is that it focuses on the energy centers and the endocrine system of the body. It will focus more on the flexibility of the spine, as it is believed that the ultimate flow of energy in the body travels through the spine, and any blockage in this flow is what leads to physical ailments and also a lack of spiritual growth, as well as emotional problems.

I know that other yoga disciplines focus on what is known as an 8 limbed path of progress, and when each limb is mastered, the individual progresses. YOu could also Google "8 limbed path" and see what you find there.

I'll leave you with this as I think it's a good starting point.

    Good luck!
