Do comic book stores buy comics back?

Or is there a better place to sell old comic books?

There are two quick and easy basic options for someone like yourself: Check your local phone book for your nearest comic store, give em a call and ask them if they're buying. They'll look through them, tell you if they're interested, and make you an offer. This is quick, easy, and you'll get paid fast. You can find your nearest comicbook store by checking on the website http://www.the-master-list.com/ Your other option is to split the books up into lots, usually of one title a piece (All your X-Men, all your Fantastic Four, all your Spider-Man, etc.) take some pictures and list them on ebay. You'll get a little more money but you'll have to do more work. The other other options is to just list them on http://www.craigslist.com/ and you may be able to find interested collectors in your area who can come pick the books up in person and will pay cash. That way you don't have to muck around with online payments, or shipping to people across the country. You might not be comfortable with meeting random strangers off the internet, though, but that's up to you. Collectors will give you more than a comic store, but only if you have particularly desirable books.

If you want to price the books, pick up a copy of Wizard or use www.comicspriceguide.com but you should know how the price guide works first. The prices listed for any given issue are the highest prices a retailer would reasonably be expected to ask for the issues in near perfect shape. That's for retailers. Retailers can put a $5 price tag on a comic and wait 10 years for someone to walk in and buy it at that price. If you want it sold NOW, instead of in ten years, you usually have to settle for 50 cents a piece or less for most books from the 80s and 90s. Check eBay to see what people ACTUALLY pay for the books you have. You'll find most of them in "lots" or collections, not for sale individually.

If you look up your books in the price guide, and see alot listed for $10 or more, do some more research and go the ebay or craigslist route. If they list for $5 or less (which, again, really only means 50 cents value each for resale), better just taking them to your local store, or finding some little kids in your life who would appreciate them.

If your comics are from before 1970-1975, ignore pretty much everything I've said and start doing some more research, since comics from before that date or so are muchmuchmuch more likely to be rare, desirable and valuable.

    Stores That Buy Comic Books

Yes we buy comics books but it depends on what it is as to how much you would get. Anything from the last 20 years would be at about 5-10% of price guide "prices". Anything older would depend on what it is and what condition it is in. The most you could really hope for is 50% of guide. It is the easiest way to sell your comics.

The other alternatives are to rent space at a comic show and sell them (not really cost effective) or to take the time and list them on eBay or craigslist or somewhere like that. Make sure you know what you have and give good descriptions. If you need more info let me know...
