Left-handed children?

I was just wondering about the odds of having a left-handed child. My hubby and I are both leftys. Our eldest son is right-handed, but our second child is a lefty. I know, with that it looks llike a 50-50 chance, right? We have one on the way though, and I was just wondering if it's genes, or just dumb luck.

I'm not worried about it. Just a random, pregnant woman thought. LOL

Well, I'm right handed, my whole family is right handed, my husband is right handed and his whole family is right handed. We have two children. A daughter who is right handed and my son who is left handed. That's strange. He can actually use both hands although he favors his left. People used to say it was a sign of the devil because they were using the left and not the right side of God.....and you know what? He is a little ****...lol ;). No, I think genetics may play a part in it; however, I think that it's just, well I don't know, luck I guess. Either way it really don't matter; however, I do understand your random pregnant woman thoughts...lol. Good luck. I'm sure you will have a happy and healthy beautiful baby!

I knew suitable from the commencing up that my youngest replaced into going to be left surpassed. the 1st time she began to coloration and it replaced into way until now she replaced into 2. extra like 11 months! My different daughter in no way had to apply their left hand, yet my youngest does and nevertheless does, she's 4. i attempt to get her to apply the two palms while writing her call or coloring. She does for a whilst, yet then consistently is going suitable back to her left. I even have 3 ladies and a couple of of them have strawberry hemangioma's and that they the two are A+ and have promptly hair. My center daughter does not have the start mark or promptly hair or A+ blood she is B+. She is likewise extra laid back & quieter than the different 2. And my center one has a double cowlick interior the back of her head, the little swirly element you have on the excellent of your head. this is unusual that 2 are precisely alike whilst the middle one isn't. yet, the place the youngest & oldest are diverse interior the left hand. my sister's a lefty and extremely e book clever yet she has no hand eye cordination, she has 2 left ft, you're able to see her run!!! she would be ready to't draw the two.

I am a lefty and proud of it. My five oldest kids are all right handed and my 4 month old is too soon to tell. I thought it would be cool to have a lefty but hasn't happen. I don't know the odds but they weren't in my favor.

I don't know. In my case it's just luck of the draw. We're all right-handed...everyone in my family back to the grandparents.

But my little girl is a lefty, and her younger sister is showing signs of being a lefty, too.

Overall in the population it's about 1 in 10. Genetics are supposed to make it more likely for left handed people to have a lefthanded child, but while I, my mum, and my husband's dad are all lefthanded (which is a very high proportion, 3 out of 6 parents/grandparents), both our kids are righthanded.
