How do I get fleas out of the house?
I have a flea infestation! I got rid of my cats, but can't get rid of the bugs. I thought I had most of them, but it seems that new ones have hatched(they are much smaller than the first round). I vacuum and I sprayed the furniture with an IGR insecticide. I am pregnant and don't want to use too many chemicals in the house, but I have to get rid of the fleas. It seems we have more now than when I started. I bought one of the flea traps with the light and glue pad and that works well, but it is very localized, it doesn't get them all. Can fleas breed if there are no animals in the house? I read that they lay eggs after a blood meal, does that mean human blood? I haven't noticed them biting too much, though. Any suggestions? Any help is greatly appreciated!

If you don't want to use chemicals, you need to get little plastic bowls and fill them with water and dawn dish liquid and set them under a nightlight. The fleas are attracted to the light so they will jump in and drown. It is very very effective and should help your problem.

Get boric acid, it is a roach powder, Sprinkle it all over your floors, sweep it in, and leave it on for a couple of days before you remove it. If it doesn't work the first time, repeat. It is the same chemical that is in Borax, the laundry cleaner. It is not like the other more toxic chemicals, it just makes the floor a place fleas can't live and grow on. I have cats and a dog, between this and advantage, I don't have a flea problem at all.

I have had that problem also but i still have my cat but you can use BENGAL FLEA SPRAY to kill the fleas in the house. Just spray the room and leave. It is safe for animals but since you got rid of yours you don't have to worry about that part. It works really well and lasts for 200 days so it says.

If you don't want to use flea bombs you are going to have to vacuum EVERYTHING everyday until you don't notice anymore for at least a week. They will live in floor cracks, carpet, baseboards, the deep crevices in furniture, etc.

A flea bomb in every room is the only way. Been there done that. It works. Good luck.

You "got rid" of your cats? What a nice way to think of your former pets. Maybe it is your karma to be stuck with the fleas.
