Why does Bush Consider Bin Laden "no longer a priority"?

"I don't know where bin Laden is. I have no idea and really don't care. It's not that important. It's not our priority."

- G.W. Bush, 3/13/02

"I am truly not that concerned about him."

- G.W. Bush, repsonding to a question about bin Laden's whereabouts,

3/13/02 (The New American, 4/8/02)

Cons get all foamy-mouthed and hysterical over Ahmadinejad speaking at Columbia, but they are totally fine with Bin Laden being free to carry on his evil plots and ridicule American justice from Pakistan.

Then when Obama said that he would use military action in Pakistan to capture Bin Laden, they again got hysterical, claiming that would somehow be "dangerous" and "irresponsible".

So, evidently they are fine with leaving a man who killed 3000+ Americans alone, but a speech at a college by a (like it or not) world leader of a nation who we are not yet at war with and who the President allowed into the country makes them hysterical. Go figure.

Update:

The evidence is in: Bushism is a mental disorder.

Update 2:

Even in Bush's own internal logic, such as it is, and using one of his fave buzzwords, how can the continued existence of OBL not "embolden" our enemies?

Isn't it plain that Bush used bin Laden to get what he wanted - US troops invading & occupying Iraq? Now that he has his wish, bin Laden himself no longer matters. Now Congress recently doubled the bounty on his head to $50 million, but what if he is captured alive? So far, the FBI is still saying they have no solid evidence that bin Laden or al Qaeda was responsible for 9-11. They could try him for the African Embassy bombings, I suppose. But wouldn't it open another large can of worms not to be able to try him for 9-11 if there is no solid evidence? Face it: bin Laden is worth mire to the admin if he is believed alive & free & hiding in a cave than he is either captured or dead.

Now about those recent fake bin Laden videos unnamed sources swear is him...

He never was a priority, he was an excuse to go to war. I don't know how they moved that war over to Iraq, where he isn't, but that's the beauty of their plan!

Much the same as the "Benchmarks for the Iraqi Government", are now forgotten and not important. How did they go by the wayside? They switched focus to where they have had some moderate and temporary success, and now the benchmarks are not important. Wait until we leave Anbar province and see how long the "Surge" success lasts!

Can't wait to hear the latest installment of "How the World Turns"!

They allow bush to spew 9/11, but refuses to capture the man responsible. How bad is that?

Terrorism in the U.S. started with bin laden, but for some reason, they look at Hussein, and states if we don't stop terrorism in Iraq, it will come to our home. Really? There was no terrorist in Iraq because IT WOULD BE A THREAT TO HUSSEIN, so he would get rid of it.

This is what the conservative followers of bush refuses to accept, and this is why we are in the trouble we are in by not accepting the fact that bin laden needs to be captured, we need to be out of Iraq, and we need ACTUAL LEADERSHIP IN THE WHITE HOUSE...

Because he knows the Bin Laden Family (The SAUDI ROYAL FAMILY) has Osama on ice and therefore is not a threat to America anymore. Bush and Bandar only bring Osama back out via tapes when ever it suits their "Scare the public" needs.

Remember that little fox who couldn't reach the grapes so he declared them sour? Same thing. Bush cannot catch Bin Laden, so suddenly he is no longer a priority.
