The NFL is a whole lot different than college. The Linebackers are a whole lot faster, The D-Linemen are a whole lot bigger and the safeties can hit a whole lot harder. You have to remember that Reggie put up a lot of those numbers in a conference that was not known for its defense. I dont see the saints changing his roll unless they get truely desperate. And if they do, don't expect the same impact he had in college.

It's a different world. College ball, isn't nearly as competitive as the Pro game. There are only a 1000 and some change Pro Football players. They are the BEST of the BEST.

In college Bush was a Man among boys, but in the pro's everyone who plays is a World Class athlete.

He has tried but NFL defenses are too fast for Reggie to be doing his juking and jiving. Problem is he is not a good north-south runner because he isn't hard to bring down when he goes between the tackles in the NFL Personally trying to get Reggie more involved in the offense as a running-back is bringing down the Saints. They should just stick with Reggie as primarily a receiver out of the back field and let Deuce do the heavy lifting.

There's a difference between piling up highlights versus Washington State than there is in doing it against an NFL defense.

The problem is that too many people expected Bush's skills to translate to immediate NFL stardom, and didn't take into account the fact that everyone in the NFL is bigger and stronger than the teams he ran over in college. Bush has a chance to be a good player, but he's never going to meet the expectations some have for him.

He played, what, 20 games in college? 23? And only maybe three of them were against great teams. So you expect 3 real games to transfer to NFL success, where EVERY team is a great team?

Look at his performance in the Rose Bowl against Texas. You know, the one where he disappeared, while LenDale White became USC's MVP. That game, against a tough college defense, is probably the best translation to how he was going to do in the NFL than any of his college games. Pssstt... he SUCKED during that game.

Problem is; Reggis Bush excelled in college by superior athleticism, but he's at a level of equality in that area now.

He even admitted it himself on the Sunday Coversation on ESPN that he cant do it the way he used to in High School and in college. He is trying to work on running straight ahead unlike how he used to when he would run from side to side. In the NFL defensive ends are just as fast as he is so he cant do it the old way. I think it will only help him to change up his game.

I think that you are failing to realize the difference in the level of competition between college and professional football. Handing him or throwing him the ball every other play would get that little man killed.
