MTV tres forum to aire on Saturday- undocumented workers & minutemen. will you watch it?

The forum was set up after surveying the viewers about what is of most interest to them. 60% voted for immigration. The board will consist of actress Ana Ortiz (Ugly Betty), Congressman Xavier Becerra, representatives from National Council of La Raza, Cal State L.A. Chicano Studies Professor Ester Hernandez and students from Cal State L.A.

Beyond Borders: An MTV Tr3s Immigration Forum” premieres on Saturday, September 29TH at 6 PM and directly follows “True Life: I Live on the Border,” which will be simulcast on MTV and MTV Tr3s at 5 PM. A member of the Minutemen, will also be in attendance at the forum to give their perspective on how the topic affects young people’s lives.

Comments? There is a link for that, too:

http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1569878/20070917/...

The link in Spanish talks about the importance of education and voting for next president.

The combination of the minuteman, La Raza, will u watch?

Update:

It seems this has to do with the dream act. In the link I posted earlier it talked about the importance of education within the community, and, how voting for a president that can further your education is necessary.....

Update 2:

The majority of the panel is, "for", but, throwing in the minuteman gentleman makes it far more interesting to me. I am curious at what his input will be and how he will be received by these Americans of Mexican decent.

Update 3:

I love Jon Stewart & Colbert! Best news ever- real or fake (comedy central)

The board seems kinda one sided, doesn't it?

I thought from your main question text that it would be showing two sides.

    THAT I would have watched.

Sounds completely one sided. I would watch it but it wouldn't change my mind at all and where I stand on immigration. La Raza, in my opinion, is a hate group that stereotypes everyone but latinos, mexicans, and the spanish in general.

I am not a liberal too and MTV's program always seem to be very left-winged, no matter what the topic.

By the way I saw a show on MSNBC about the border patrol agents and I was shocked to see that 90% of them were mexican, legal that is. Any show can be informative with an open mind not a one sided mind.

Exactly, the board is one sided, second MTV and it's viewers need to do a bit of growing up before they start calling for things they don't really have a handle on. How many MTVers have lost jobs because of illegal immigration?, or are they still living at home with mom and dad. I work in construction ( or at least I used to ) and I know a lot of people who also lost the jobs they were trained for because an employer could hire an illegal with virtual impunity and not have to worry about paying taxes, or Social Security, or Workers Comp, or Unemployment Insurance, or anything, they so generously left those things up to us, the legal workers, how nice of them. As far as the jobs Americans won't do thing, those jobs were there before the illegal invasion, precisely who was it who was doing them then I wonder; another exercise in logical

prestidigitation. So I suggest MTV should get the real story rather the up their ratings by placating this constituency.

No, that's no longer. An unlicensed pharmacist could be a pharmacist who's appearing responsibilities without a license. An undocumented worker, on the different hand, is not any diverse than an unlawful alien. considering the fact that all of us understand the distinctive words used for "unlawful extraterrestrial beings," i think of that's secure to head on from the pointless waste of potential in debating be conscious selection. in case you pick to be credible, locate something with substance.

I watch a preview on Lou Dobs and it was slanted in the favor of the illegals, they only had one who was against amnesty. And yes I will watch it. There is no fairness or balance

Few if anyone doubts the important of education, but many feel that granting the dream act is just recreating a unfair system where the formers illegals dry up the limited funds in the financial aid pool because most of the illegals work off the books so they would quality for the funds.

If the dream act is passed then those granted that amnesty will demand that it is unfair that their parents and families do not have status and it will be just the nose under the tent for a full amnesty

i'm watching it but i'm sure it's all a bunch of pro illegal crap making the illegals out to be poor saps and us the mean americans. i dont understand why they are only going to ask hispanic celebrities and professors though and then just pick some minuteman to represent the other side. seems a little skewed.

I doubt it. I don't get my news from MTV or the Comedy Channel...even the English version. I can't see myself tuning in to this -- even if such learned people as Ugly Betty and a bunch of college students are on the forum. I'm just not "hip" enough, I guess.

Wow, that's an impressive line up of pros, wonder which side MTV is on................

Sounds like a massacre, not a very reasonable debate (did they actually use the word debate?) When you stack the deck the way MTV has done its not a debate its a promotion or a rant session. If I get the chance I will watch.

That's typical. As one-sided as a thing could get without bringing in Hugo Chavez himself.

I'd love to see the thousands of Border Patrol Agents of Latino-American descent speak without interruption.

It'd be nice to show Roy Beck's speech that I often cite (because no one argues with it, as yet) called Immigration Gumballs.

How about they 'fess up and just say, "We don't care what it does because we're not the type to care! Just do as we do and agree with us or else!"

    Sheeesh!

    Watch the REAL facts...

Years ago I had the cable company block VH1, BET, MTV and all the channels selling junk. So, to answer your question, no, I will not be watching.
