my mum dont she sleeps with her eyes open it freaks me right out when i go in her room i think she awake but she snoring her head off

The eyes are a very sensitive organ that can only be exposed to the world under self-conscious controls. We depend heavily on them and it's only natural that our genetic instincts are coded to protect them when in vulnerable stasis. I never sleep with ear-plugs in however. If you've ever watched a cat sleep, you'll notice that their ears are like little radar dishes to act as their eyes.

according to my family i sleep with my eyes open, but i think the answer to your question is we sleep with our eyes closed because when we are in the womb of our mums we have our eyes closed but i really just guessing lol just thought id put that not everyone sleeps with there eyes closed

Some people don't. But generally to keep the dust out and give the brain a rest.

cos the muscles in the eyelids relax as does the rest of the body does when we are asleep i suppose - some peoples dont tho i am led to believe - thats no good when your tryiing to check hubby's wallet when he is asleep lol if his eyes are open you wont know if he asleep or watching you lol- not that i do that of course lol ( dont have a hubby)

I would have thought it would be to protect them, as while your asleep dust and dirt as well as insects would do a fair bit of damage, and if you have a cat like mine, she sniffs at my face touching her cold wet nose to wake me up. Enjoy your star
