Why does my cat love to sit on paper?

yep the same as everyone else my cat does it too, and if we are really lucky he might even wait til you have finished reading the newspaper,

i think its because paper is good insulation

Sophie, I somewhat have the comparable problems with my cats whilst i'm engaged on my laptop, I do countless artwork from abode and that they are continually leaping up on my table - Chloe likes to play with my laptop mouse whilst Amber, like your cat, loves paper, she chews it because of the fact she likes the style, making attempting to get any artwork completed a nightmare. anyhow, i think of i've got solved the difficulty, cat toys with feathers - they love them, so while i'm in my workplace working they get their feather toys. Daft cats yet hi i admire them to bits lol.

Hiya, ive always wondered that too!

My kitty Always lies on newspaper, plastic bags and that kind of thing, ive bought her loads of nice cozy beds which she turns her nose up at in favour of a newspaper... even if i'm, sitting reading the paper, she'l come over and climb on to it for a seat! Very amusing, but ive always wondered what the attrection is? I wondered if it stemed back to when they were very young, if the breeder used newspaper in the pen and they feel secure with it? Cute though xx

My Momma cat was exactly the same used to drive the kids mad when they were colouring on the floor, now her three babies do it too, they also love plastic bags, hiding inside them or just laying on them, they'll lay on anything that is on the floor!!! Love em x

Mine do it all the time! Think it's attention seeking and the warmth of the paper. It can be very amusing, especially when they lie on the desk full of papers, stroll across onto the computer desk and decide to help"""""""""""@@@@

This is one of those mysterious cat things we humans may never figure out. My cats do it too. They'd rather lie on the newspaper than any of their soft warm beds.

My cats do the same thing i think they just like the feeling of it or maybe , the crinkle-ly thing, mine also love my husband's work shirts for whatever reason ??

your cat may just be looking for attention. try showing her you appreciate her. it also might just be a habit. you can help her by not leaving out papers, or telling her no when she lays on them.
