PS3's game price v.s. Xbox 360 game price?
I own a PS3, not a Xbox 360 but I just wonder why the Xbox 360's games and the PS3's games cost $59.99. When you think about it the PS3's games should be $59.99.
It's not like I care or anything, but aren't 360 owners getting ripped off because the regular Xbox used DVD's and so did the PS2 and when new games came out for those 2 consoles they were $49.99 not $59.99
The PS3's games use a Blu-Ray disc not a standard DVD disc like the Xbox 360 and Blu-Ray discs are more expensive, and they can hold way more data than standard DVD's so why are new Xbox 360 games $59.99 when the disc format isn't any different than the previous Xbox and PS2?

Just because the Blu ray discs CAN hold more that doesn't mean they do. You are still getting the same game. It's not like the PS3 games have 5 extra levels. They don't even look better! 360 is HD rather than a normal Xbox game.
Madden has a faster frame rate on 360 than PS3. I understand what you mean though. It seems like Sony just aren't getting the most out of the PS3 so the prices are the same.

It is the changing times, the economy plays a big role in everything retail that includes video games... most video games made by the big guys (Microsoft, Nintendo, Sony, Namco, and others) are $60.00 because of inflation... other companies (like Natsume the company that makes Harvest Moon and other RPGs) are able to sell their games at about $50 a game because they don't normally supply to Wal-mart or Target. They sell their products in Game stores like EB-Games or Game-Stop. Honestly, games (and everything else including DVDs and Blue-ray and the cost of living) are going to continue to go up in price for years to come because the economy is what makes the world go 'round... luckily though, in most states, the minimum wage is going up higher and higher so that people can continue to live happier lives, because happier people make for happier workers which helps the economy which makes the world spin!!!
in other words, the prices are the same because Microsoft and Sony need to compete to get people to buy games and accessories. If Xbox 360 games were $49.99 then PS3 games and blu-ray disks would also drop in price, but they can't because it costs so much money to produce these things in mass quantities for us to enjoy that they HAVE to be $60! it is just how things work in the world today.

I duno about the 360 but a game like rainbow six at 74$ for the ps3 is a total ripoff.
