How do you vote for an answer? Am I the only 1 who can't figure this out?

Tyrone is correct (so often is!). But you may be confusing "voting" with "rating". Rating is using the thumbs up and down, which you will be able to do once you reach Level 2 at 250 points. It does not give YOU any points, and only awards points to others IF they get chosen as Best Answer. It has no bearing on who finally GETS chosen as Best Answer.

The voting is done just as Tyrone stated, and earns you 1 point per vote. The answer with the MOST votes eventually gets chosen as Best Answer.

You want the latter one

click that

next go to the question you want to vote on

click that

you will be taken to a screen where there are the answers to the questions.

Read the question

a message will say you can no longer answer the question but it will say you can vote if you havent already

Instead of the person's name it will show

answer 1

answer 2

answer 3

and so on.

read each answer thoroughly

before making your choice

at the end it will say none of these are the best?

no best answer this is where 5 points is returned.

When you vote in this you are picking the best answer for someone else.

make your choice wisely because you cant change your mind and vote for someone else.

You're on level 1 and allowed 20 votes each day until you reach 2nd level. You would choose a category and select the VOTE tab. Click the big blue button that states: Vote as Best Answer.

You need to be on page 1 before it will show you the vote option. Click on vote and the questions which then come up all need voting on. Just pick one and off you go. (I had the same problem when I first started, lol:-D)

Well it depends on what you mean by vote for! If you are the questioner and wish to pick one of your answers as best answer you can do that by checking the box. Otherwise I don't think you can vote for an answer unless you have enough points accumulated to vote for another persons best answer should they not have chosen one. The different levels of Yahoo! answers are explained at the bottom of your profile and what the point system gives you the opportunity to do. I hope that helps!

yes that is right the first thing you have to do is pick a question in a category then click on the vote for a best answer button

you might be on level 1 it will tell you on the side where your avator is under how many points you have, you have to get a certain amount of points to beable to vote, you have to reach level 2, i had the same probably as you, i was like uhhhhhh i want to vote to!!! then they ent me an e-mail once ireached level 2 and they told me how to vote.....
