Anyone else think TBS should never EVER bid for the playoffs again?!?
Who saw that crap tonight? TBS is not a sports network.. and it showed. It was so boring.. I felt like I was watching a minor league game! The commentators were horrible, there wasnt any music leading in or out of the commercials... these are the PLAYOFFS! Its supposed to be exciting! Those guys sounded like they were bored themselves! Did they think that showing the pitch speed with the little flame thing was going to make up for the lack of excitement? What the hell was that?! I wish the Yankee games were going to be on YES... I miss you Michael Kay!!
At least I got to see funny impersonations from Frank Caliendo during commercials...
Ooooh James, youre so serious... Sorry, but I like my "game" to be "presented" with some enthusiasm!

haha yea TBS sucks for baseball. I dont watch baseball until the playoffs start, but the few TBS games I have seen have not been that interesting to watch to or listen.

Well I think Ted Robinson was OK. Steve Stone was terribly boring though. There are only a handful of Play by Play and Color Commentators out there that do a great job. It's always hard watching your team in the post season because the commentators have to assume that the audience has never watched the two teams before (as is the truth by one of the baseball "fans" that has answered above me). So, this leads to them re-hashing stories from the entire season for both teams. Example: In the middle of an inning Steve Stone feels the need to say "The Red Sox paid 51 million dollars just to be able to negotiate with Matsuzaka". Any casual baseball fan knows that and doesn't need to hear about it during a classic pitching performance by Josh Beckett.
The in game coverage was fine. I don't care for the terrible music intros to each inning and the "Story lines" that FOX tries to provide.(Like having to hear about the "curse" 38million times in 2004's ALCS). But TBS did screw up three or four times by returning late to the game and missing the first out and having to show a replay.
I will say, I'm glad I didn't have to listen to Tim McCarver or Joe Morgan though, they drive me insane.

Yes I agree, it has been soooo boring to listen to. But better than Fox, and even though I'd love to see the Cubs game on a local channel (like YES), then not everybody could see it. So if they did that, I'd miss out on the Rockies games and that would stink. Oh well at least we get to watch the playoffs. Some people can't even watch it because they don't have TBS!

IT SUCKED!!!
" Baseball reached agreements with Turner last year to telecast the first round of the playoffs and one of the League Championship Series. It's the first year of the deal, which includes TBS airing last night's tiebreaker between Colorado and San Diego, which the Rockies won 9-8 in 13 innings.
$3 Billion Deal
Turner's seven-year deal with baseball also includes the network showing Sunday afternoon games beginning next season. "
Uh oh.
And down go the ratings....

If the musical segues between innings determine your
enjoyment of the game, you probably can't stand actually
going to the yard to watch the game the way it's supposed
to be seen.
If you don't like the play-by-play and color commentary, turn off
the sound, and do what you'd do at the ballpark - provide your
*own* commentary.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but this is the playoffs, not YES's homer coverage of the Yanks. The commentators are to be neautral. And as for the music complaint, it is people like you that make Olympic coverage 80% stories about some Ukranian's dead mom and 20% sports. It is about the game, not the presentation.

Go WGN!!!! The Cubs should be on the home network (so should the yankees) with their own announcers. I'm watching the game right now and the announcers SUCK

Well donna your avatar shows the face that expresses how you feel about TBS airing MLB playoff games..lol. I would agree they need to keep it where it was

Absolutely horrible. I'm glad I wasn't the only one who felt this way. The way it was presented... They made it look/feel/sound as though the crowd that was there was completely bored.

i agree
the commentators who were at the angel/boston game really loved those sox.. ;)
all they talked about was beckett and how great he was (believe me i think he pitched fantastic today. i tip my cap )
but.. come on now..
they talked a lot about the red sox and not the game itself
yeah tbs.. sorta bad
