Song for my bride played on the piano?

I would like to play a song on the piano for my bride at the reception. What song would sound good when played on the piano? I am looking for a song that sounds good when played by itself with no accompaniment because there will be no backup instruments and I won't be singing. When providing suggestions, please provide as much info as possible:

1) Song Name

2) Artist

3) Level of difficulty

Or should I try to compose an original piece for this occassion?

Theres Your Song by Elton John. This sounds great alone on the piano and is beautiful and dedicated just to that special person. Then there is All I Ask of You by Josh Groban or Shes Got A Way by Billy Joel. Good luck! Composing an original piece is difficult and no one will be moved as much as if they can hum in there head the words. It sends a stronger message if everyone there can relate.

If possible, I'd try to compose an original piece for the bride. It would mean so much more to her coming from your heart. I'd also try to put some lyrics to it. Are you unable to sing, or just don't like to sing in front of people? Even if you can't sing very well, if the song is written by you for your bride, you should sing it to her anyway.

My husband wrote a song for our daughter for her wedding and sang it to her at the reception. He had a hard time getting through it because it was a very emotional song, but everyone in the place was crying because it was so beautiful and conveyed to her what he felt in his heart, remembering her from a newborn baby to seeing her in her wedding gown.

Good luck with whatever you choose and with the wedding.

Wonderful idea- I'm sure it will be beautiful and mean a lot to your bride. I think you should go with Elton John or Billy Joel. Since you don't want to sing, how about you pick a few lines or a verse that has the message you want to send- and read those aloud before you play? Or- you could print those lines in your wedding program.

This is a wonderful song choice for solo piano accompaniment:

    1. The Luckiest

    2. Ben Folds

    3. I don't know since I'm not a pianist, but you can view the music here- http://www.musicnotes.com/sheetmusic/mtd.asp?ppn=M...

and hear Ben Folds perform it here-

and someone playing it on the piano here-

I just thought giving you these links my help you to determine the level of difficulty and if you could do it or not. Believe me, a girl would absolutely melt to tears if someone sang this to her!
