Canon Pixma MP160 Printer suddenly won't recognise refilled cartridges?
I had my cartridges refilled recently and although my printer was saying they were both empty...it still printed and has done perfectly well for a couple of weeks. I tried to print something today and I am getting an error message, E5, telling me that the cartridges are unrecognisable and it is now refusing to print which is driving me crazy!! I have tried cleaning the sensors? on the cartridges and on the printer and reseating the cartidges as well which have not worked.
Any ideas would be very welcome...Thanks in advance!

Refilled cartridges are notorious for weird operation and errors.
When they are refilled properly the usage monitoring chip in the cartridge, if it has one, is supposed to be reset so you won't get that ink empty message.
Try a proper cartridge, insure the printer is working properly.
Sometimes the connections on the used cartridge give up, they can only be inserted a number of times until the connection goes bad.
