Where were all the hypocritical Patriot Act whiners when the Brady Bill was passed?

Isn't it funny how so-called "civil libertarians" act outraged over eveasdropping on terrorists.....yet the same exact whiners were no where to be found when the draconian Brady Bill was being passed?

Update:

Part of the Brady bill prohibited the manufacture of high-cap magazines. As a result of lowered availiability, I was forced to pay a PREMIUM for hi-cap mags -$125- instead of the pre-Brady rate of $30. Fortunately, I was able to afford it, but undoubtedly many were not as financially secure as myself

This is the type of tyranny and oppression found under Hitler or Castro

Update 2:

Charmed: You are showing your ignorance, dear. "Machine guns" have been banned since The National Firearms Act of 1934

Leftists pretend to love the First Amendment while openly loathing the Second Amendment. They actually hate all American freedoms.

Let's put this into perspective. I ask a question about the constitution earlier. Both parties want to take away certain CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS. Why are we allowing it?

Liberatarian candidates are for the CONSTITUTION but are not main stream. I want all of my rights. I think all politicians are stepping on them.

And all of you people that are talking about waiting periods and legally getting weapons, most criminals don't go through legal channels to buy weapons. No 5 day waiting period on the street. And I can walk into a sporting goods store and buy a shotgun without waiting at all. Then go home saw off the barrel and hide it pretty easy. What exactly is the point to making law abiding citizens wait in the computer age? All records checks can be done in less than an hour. This is a way to keep people under the thumb of the government.

Why do you think owning machine guns is a right? Machine guns are made to kill large numbers of people at once. Most people can't control them. They've only ever been used for mass murder.

The right to privacy and the need for privacy until you've done something requring a warrant is a totally different topic. Why should they have the right to invade everyone's privacy rather than just get a warrant and listen to those they are susupicious of and have to answer for it right or wrong? Without that warrant they don't have to answer to anyone for anything and we've lost our system of checks and balances.

Losing machine guns is a plus. Losing privacy rights is a minus.

I was there complaining about that BS too.

All my constitutional rights are important to me.

I also protested the assault weapons ban that banned my M44 which is a 6 shot fully manual bolt action rifle. It was covered under the ban because it has a permanently mounted bayonet.

Oh no we have to ban this, someone might use their rifle as a spear.

Draconian? Because it makes you wait five days to get a handgun, so as to help ensure that people who shouldn't have them don't get them? I thought you guys were in favor of making sure that law-abiding citizens can have guns. Or do you really just want everyone to have them, regardless of if they should?

I think it was one H. Simpson, who, when told of the waiting period, complained "But I won't be mad then."

How is the Brady Bill "exceedingly harsh" (the definition of draconian)?

It's all about power their power to push you around take your stuff and make yuo a slave.

If you had a gun you could or can stop that behavior.

Hitler also took peoples guns and then killed millions.
