Do you think women act more conservatively in their retirement investments in general?
I think there is a myth that women act more conservatively for their investments, however the literature is written with everyone in mind to invest aggressively when you're younger, and become more conservative in investments with age. A 22-year old regardless of gender would be foolish to be placing their money in a low-yield, but safe fund.

It is true. I was a financial representative until I retired at age 42 to watch my own investments. Women do tend to be very conservative. Some of being very conservative is because they felt the husband was being to aggressive in their 401K program. Overall, I wish women would be more aggressive in their retirement investments.

Yes, women do tend to be more cautious about investing. They might be more apt to invest in mutual funds instead of stocks, for example, and they might be nervous about diversifying their portfolios. Women on average are more risk aversive than men and for good, evolved reasons.
