Men are much smarter than women?
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/new...
Yeah I read this topic about How women are less smarter than men, their aliby...IQ scores, To be honest I think it also have to do with opportunities, Not IQ scores. Why is it that women had barely any rights in the past and they have already catched up with us? How about it being 57 percent of women are the population in college right now? The fact that now that women have rights They are taking advantage of opportunities. I know my mom is much smarter than my dad...easily. She's also younger than him. I know most women are a little emotional but honestly I know much more intelligent women than guys....I know i'm gonna get beat up by the guys but I gotta tell the truth....I am a complete moron and my little 16 year old sister is smarter than me. I'm 23 years old lol. She's already read 6 of my psychology books and I only read 3.

Lol. Your sister sounds like a little bit of a genius.
These IQ tests aren't proportionately representative of the world population, so they're not very reliable. Even if there were a difference, it would be so minor, that I'd just laugh at the results and carry on watching my boyfriend try to work out how exactly his computer isn't turning on, taking the hard-drive apart only to find out that it wasn't plugged in.
I think it's a bit obsessive of intellectuals to do all these studies just to work out which sex is more intelligent. Couldn't they be doing more productive things. Like finding a solution to world hunger, working out the origins of consciousness, or being on yahoo answers =p

It is wrong to generalise, especially since we are talking about 2 groups comprising billions of persons! Every person has his/her own IQ, capabilities and background. It is true that societies do not demand of women to be so smart and dynamic, and so they develop less initiative in this field. IQ tests are based a lot on mathematic thinking, and women often are directed to different disciplines. However, there is no use in finding an average and comparing. I have male friends who are smarter than me, and male friends who are stupid. What good is if I presuppose men are smarter than women on the average? It no way means that all men are smarter than all women, so stereotypes can only be harmful. I was brought up a lot like a boy, and everyone acknowledges that I think and act a lot like a man, although physically and hormonally and emotionally I am 100% woman, so the physical sex has no bearing in this, it is how you learn to think.

Its not that men are smarter, its the fact that men and women think differently, and the test are created by men. Mens brains have their strengths, and so do womens. But they are not the same strengths. So, men sometimes cant figure out why women do the things that they do, and women dont understand why men do some of the things that they do.
If women designed a series of IQ test, the men would probably not do as well as the women.

That study was horribly flawed. First of all, it was based upon SAT scores of 17 and 18 year olds, not IQ tests. SATs are a big joke. All SATs prove is how well you can take a standardized test. Many colleges are foregoing considering them all together because they're such a joke. Also, the results of about 20,000 more females were taken into consideration.
Anyway, the margin of error for an IQ test is generally 5 points. I do believe this study is claiming a 4 point differential. Hmmm. And lastly, one of the authors of this study is a man who claims race and intelligence are correlated.

I am not saying I am not in favor of this type of schooling or that I am. There was a study done in some same gender schools and what they found was the girls accelerated in gender dominated fields like science and mathematics whereas they didn't in coed schools. They concluded (not conclusively) that females didn't feel so overwhelmed and "threatened" by letting their abilities shine forth when the male gender was not around. Also, they had thought it had to do with the fact they weren't trying to pretty themselves and compete for the attention of the opposite sex. They went in and got a better education. I can't remember where I read this article.

Yes she was quite smart (smarter than you). For I am sure she would be able to tell the difference between where and were. P.S - That joke is old, just a different version of a blond and brunette joke.

men do have some capabilities more when compared to women. But in nature female species is equipped with real strength to cope up with tragedies, difficulties and stress. Men cannot handle stress where women can gracefully handle stressful situations. Men are more logical but women are emotional. Sometimes EQ proves to be more correct compared to IQ. So we cannot just say who is more smarter. Nature balances the male and female strengths

Men smarter than women, women smarter than man.
A) Is that really an important topic?
B) This is a generalization that will never be worth discussing.

A good question to ask whenever something like this comes up is "What kind of tests were used?". Intelligence testing is not as easy as it sounds. It is very easy to bias a test to favor one group or another. It can be done quite unintentionally and it usually is not. I question his motives. Whenever there is a study like this, it is almost always because someone wishes to prove the supremacy of one group over another. Something like this is far too easy to skew for four points of IQ to really mean anything. And for a "researcher" to suggest otherwise calls either his motives or his own "IQ" into question.

am not so sure... did u know the majority of people on antidepressants are women? what does that say? maybe women are expected to handle more. Not only do they need to have the same jobs as men but continue to do most of the housework and childrearing chores.
So maybe its not about smarts but just about circumstance and society's expectations.
