Are you ever able to return unused medicine to the pharmacy for a refund?

No licensed pharmacy is legally permitted to accept returns. Besides, the incredibly greedy pharmaceutical companies would never sanction refunding anyones money.

You might try calling some of the free clinics in your neighborhood. It is a shame to flush $50.00 down the toilet.

There should be a way to return them to their maker and be able to get a refund on the goods....period. They do not have to be re-usable. The maker should refund your money paid as other retailers do. God knows you spend enough money on prescriptions, especially if, like me, you have no insurance of any kind. Just like you can take something back to a grocery store that you have tried and are unhappy with, this SHOULD be possible. Maybe if we start pushing the issue, we will get results. I am tired of paying high dollar for scripts that either do not work for their intended purpose, or cause nasty side effects and you can no longer take them. Enough is enough with greedy pharmaceutical companies.

It is so unfair. Doctor called in antiobiotic prescription for me, I picked it up the same day, took one pill, then doctor called and told me NOT to take that medicine and called me in another prescription. Now I am stuck with the first antibiotic paid for and can't use or get refund, and still had to pay for the second one ..all in two days. This is so unfair and patient is the one left bearing the expense.

Once a prescription drug has left the pharmacy, it cannot come back. No one knows what has happened to it.

Nope, you cannot return them. Medications have to be stored correctly at a certain temperature and certain locations for some medications. They pharmacy has no way of knowing how the medications were stored while you had them in your possession.

The medicines must be return with refund if they are in usable condition

YES. you will not get your money back, but that is actually the proper way to dispose of medications. Flushing them can lead to drinking water contamination.

I'm sure that my mail order RX has full potency when setting in my mail box for hours at 108 degrees.
