My fiance's family are practicing Hindu's. His Grandmother just died. Do we have to wait 1 year to marry?

His grandmother died about 2 weeks ago. We were planning to get married on March 21st 2008. We aren't too sure about the customs and don't think its the right time to bring it up to his parents.

Is there anyone else you could ask? Like a cousin or in case your fiance has a sister? Sorry, I am not Hindu but it might also have to do with your fiance´s parents´ attitude (maybe it´s ok for them or maybe it´s just postponing the wedding by a couple of months, not a year).

I don't know about the cultural aspect, but it would be proper ettiquette to postpone so the family can grieve.
