Do you think happiness is the best "goal"?

I don't think I understand. I should stop chasing goals? I should stop turning around myself? I should stop looking to the outside for confirmation? I should stop messing with my environment? I should be peaceful?

So what? I want to be happy like every body. I need confirmation to know that I'm right. I'm not very peaceful I must admit, some times I'm angry even furious, although I don't express it. There are so many 'you should' and 'you must'. I'm confused: I want to be what I am, I want to be happy...

Happiness is not a goal, but a state of being. Being yourself and being true to the real you is what happiness is about. Feeling like one's best and not having the need to prove anything to anyone because you know you are living the best you can is a way of living life that is a reward in and of itself.

You combine a lot of thoughts here. I can tell you that my goal is happiness, peace, prosperity, love and health. I spend some time each day making that statement, intentioning those things into my world - but mostly I spend time doing things that get me closer to my goal.

That is not to say that I never get angry - anger is an important emotion that often gets things done or helps you understand your limits or the limits of another. The idea is that by setting your intention and taking practical action (no matter how small) toward your goal on a regular basis you can achieve your goal without a lot of the stress that commonly goes along with "making it happen".

I don't need confirmation from others to know that I am right. I need to be happy - when I am, I know I am doing what is right and best for me. If I am in a relationship, I do not need to worry about how long it will last - I simply need to be wonderful and fun to hang out with (and the relationship will last as long as we both put in the effort to be wonderful and fun to hang out with, right?)

We make our own happiness, my friend. If you like the angst of life, enjoy it. Some people mistake drama for passion, largely because they wish to. It is up to you to decide what you want in life and then be happy when you get it.

    Peace!

Happiness one of the three natural rights that the Founding Fathers fought for.

Happiness the prime state of man, for he is in his heaven, content with the world, and at peace with his surroundings.

You can achieve happiness in many ways, but the path you choose is up to you.

I get mad at the world, then I see things that make me love it again.

Just keep a constant lookout for the things that make you feel good enough to laugh and enjoy the world for what it is.

  • happiness is a state of mind not so much as a goal. a goal is something we wish for or want so much even if it is out of reach. a goal keeps us feeling young for as long as we still have a goal in life; we always have something to strive for and keep us moving even when we feel like giving up.

Being happy is just a facet of life, while we cannot achieve total everyday happiness, we get in spurts. Imagine if we were happy all the time we would know no other feeling.

The more you chase it, the more it eludes you. I pursued happiness for years and finally opted for the "joy of the Lord" instead.

"These things have I spoken unto you that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full." (Jesus) John 15:11
