Why didn't ACME ever have a class action anti-trust suit filed against it by Wile E. Coyote, among others?

He was just a victim of poor workmanship, horrible planning, and bird-physics-defiance.

And possibly only one supplier of explosive paraphernalia, which is what this whole ordeal is about.

(the TV section is deader than Rick James)

Update:

I'm pretty sure Daffy made use of some ACME products at some point. And who knows what kind of (extremely bendable) hunting equipment Elmer used...

STATEMENT ON BEHALF OF ACME SUPPLY Co.

To know the answer to that question, one would have to discover whether there were others who ordered ACME products, and were similarly disappointed, as alleged by the asker.

Although a private investigator [such as Mr. E. Fudd, P.I.] could determine the quantity of magnetic bird seed, giant horseshoe magnets, tunnel paint and anvils actually sold, such records could not be used in evidence, for the following reasons:

    1) Mr. Coyote at no point indicated that he was actually dissatisfied with the products ordered. The fact that he was clearly a repeat customer speaks to the point.

    2) Evidence shows that said products were shipped and received in a timely fashion, and performed as well as may be expected under the circumstances.

    3) The failure on the part of Mr. Coyote to achieve the desired results can be attributed to his own failure to utilize ACME products with due care and attention, specifically to read instructions and to apply the product in an optimal manner.

    4) No evidence has been offered which might suggest that Mr. Coyote was in possession of an explosives handling permit.

Therefore we propose to the court that the allegation of poor workmanship be set aside.

In response to the allegations set forth, it is duly noted that there is some question as to the credit rating of Mr. Wile E. Coyote: we will seek a court order for full remuneration of funds for outstanding accounts and/or return of product in resaleable condition with original packaging and bill of sale.

    Yours truly.

I always wondered if Wile E. coyote could afford to buy all that defective stuff from Acme, why didn't he just order a pizza instead of trying to eat the roadrunner?? However since it appears he is the only one with the defective equipment, he should sue on his own and there does not seem to be anyone to enjoin with. I don't think Bugs Bunny was a carnivore, he was more interested in carrots and so was Daffy Duck, so no class action suit would be appropriate.

If only the Coyote were affected by the failure of the ACME products then he wouldn't be starting a class action suit.

Some of the ACME products he got he misused so in that case he would not have grounds to sue anyway.

Though he might be able to win something from ACME anyway because of the products he was using properly not working.

That Coyote had some bafflingly strong brand loyalty to ACME, after all those years of near death experiences with their products. Maybe they were just the only company that delivered to the generic desert area where he lived

He could both under civil and employment law as he was an employee of ACME Corporation! That was how he was able to buy all those weird, wonderful and highly dangerous gadgets!

ACME is responsible only for defects in material, not in workmanship! Wile E. only purchased those build-it-yourself kits, so the fault falls entirely on his head! Pun intended!

It was all Wile E. Coyote's choice for those explosive and deadly products... I declare Acme corp. "Not guilty"...

I hated the road-runner. And curiously enough, Wiley E Coyote's nose. Don't get me started on Daffy and Elmer.

  • You do know that the road runner is the head and CEO of ACME explosives right?

Wile was bad luck personified. He could not have won a lawsuit even if Clarence Darrow had been his lawyer.
