try and put more brackets in!

not continuous when the denominator = 0,

    (a) x^2 + 7x - 2 = 0, so, x = -7/2 +- {sqrt(57)}/2

    (b) put over same denominator and find when =0:

    7/x + 3x / x+6 = {7(x+6) + 3x^2}/x(x+6)

    not continuous when, x=0, x=-6
