Why wouldn't you be able to? The Ipod classic has a standard 1/8th inch jack just like any mp3 player so you could always use those speakers with it. I would be more concerned about the firmware bugs and the extremely slow hard drive seek times, I just bought one of these because the storage was tempting and I returned it yesterday.
