Does Islam spread peace around the world?

the verses came during at certain time especially when prophet Muhammad facing many challenge from non muslim at early age when he has to face hostility, boycott, cheating, betrayed, people try to kill him, and especially wars.

the verses means the muslim has permission to kill during wars and Allah encourage them to kill without hesitate during wars.

outside wars, we need to be polite even if the neighbor is non muslim.

The reasons that make fighting allowed in Islam :

1- If Muslims have been attacked or harmed by others .

you can't live in peace if others don't want. If someone come to attack you, you will not say i need to live in peace i will not defend myself.

2-Fight to proclaim Islam as a main part of Islam is to proclaim Islam and invite Muslims to be Muslims because Islam (unlike other religions) was not made for a certain place or a certain period of time so ALLAH order Muslims to fight those who prevent Muslims from proclaiming Islam or those who prevent people from becoming Muslims.

Once people know Islam and know about Islam they are free to become Muslims or remain on their religions after this fighting them become not allowed.

Also for Verses [4:89] you mentioned you ignored the beginning of the verses which says "They but wish that ye should reject Faith, as they do, and thus be on the same footing (as they): so take not friends from their ranks .............." which shows that seizing & slaying should be for whom wish to harm muslims and get them away from their faith.

All counties have armies and military forces and their military law state that they should defend themselvies and fight,slay and seize for their freedom freedom of country and freedom of believes (not only Muslim countries)

How about you read the actual quran, the real deal, go and get yourself a copy and sit down with an open mind and read it. If you dont understand, make sure you get a an english translation.

I dont rely on sources of the internet, as I have no way of knowing whether it has been extratced from the quran itself or changed for the benefits of others.

And dont take things out of context, that particular verse could have easily been used to describe events and circumstances unbeknown to you, so try to get the whole picture instead of one part of it.

Your claims that other religions can't spread as fast as Islam and that they're slacking in their beliefs are false. I know about some churches who have built ministries in hundreds of different countries. They are run by devout believers who whole heartedly are devoted to their services for God. Missionaries work hard to interpret God's message in many languages and some have risked their lives sharing the Gospel. People of other religions have done the same things.

In the nations where Islam is the state religion, is there peace? Do the people love one another and treat each other well?

Look at those countries! There is incredible injustice towards half of the population simply because they are female. They are beaten and killed and blamed for men's sins. Is that peace? Is that love? The middle east has been in turmoil for centuries and much of it has to do with their religion. No, I don't think Islam is peaceful.

Like the above poster, though, I don't hate muslims. I don't like their religion but I don't think they are automatically terrorists or bad people because of their faith.

Now I know, someone will say that Christianity isn't peaceful either - I mean, look at the havoc they created with the Crusades, the Inquisitions, etc. Catholicism isn't real Christianity. Never has been, never will be, and it's so easy to prove from the Bible. True Christians - the ones that the Catholics tried to slaughter out of existence - never started wars and didn't kill the unbelievers. That sounds like peace to me.

Without going into quotes from the bible and/or the Koran let me say this.

Pick up a newspaper (ANY newspaper) and look at the killings and maiming on innocents done in the name of Allah.

Look at the little children who have been taught that Jews as well as All Infidels (including Christians) should be killed.

Now ----Do you have to ask if the Muslim religion is for peace?

Remember....Not all Muslims are terrorists..But...(almost) All terrorists are Muslim.

I think that answers from Muslims will assure you that it's the literal translation that peaceful Muslims follow... to slay would most likely mean to wipe out and replace...to convert or simply ignore... Taking any life is not befitting of any peaceful religion or sect.

You would be wise to not listen to the lies that say Islam is "peace." You have the readings before you, and there are many more. But the greatest evidence is the Bible that says in the last days a one-world religion will emerge that will behead / kill those that are in opposition to it. Christians, today, are being tortured, imprisoned, slaughtered by Muslims because they will not deny Christ and accept Islam. Jesus exhorts man to "wake up from your slumber." That means that many more people today are asleep, blind to Satan and His schemes, so they will perish. You stay awake and don't be fooled!

The 3 major religions; Christianity, Judaism, and Islam, all which claim to be religions of peace, have spread nothing but intolerance, bloodshed, suffering, and hate around the world.

The concept of "love thy neighbor" is completely lost on them.

You'll find the same quotes in the bible, so you'll have to recognize that it is the faithful person that preaches peace, but yes, Islam is a peaceful religion.
