they would likely produce more... but it all depends on the sub.... the Pioneer Premier TS-W5000SPL the world record holder @ 170+db...guess what....13 sealed enclosures..
heres the subs specs, note no specs for a ported box.

UPDATE:
Metalman56......seriously..? dude, i thought you knew that....you're usually on the ball. but yea sparky is right, 3db for doubling of power, but i don't think it would be 6.3 db either...see doubling 2000 will give you 4000 there is 3 db, but from 4 to 6 is only 50% or 1.5 db so thats a 4.5 db gain...right? but even at 6.3db... thats alot of cash for very little payback....

It takes double the power to get a 3 dB gain in SPL. Since 6000 watts is three times 2000 watts, you'd be up by 6.3 dB, woo hoo!
UPDATE: I was guessing. 4.5 dB is right!
Metalman56, it doesn't matter the enclosure.

Sparky, i thought you gained +3 db every time you doubled the amount of subs/power in a ported box. not a sealed.

I have 2 orion 12" dvc's in a sealed enclosure powered by an mtx thunder series 2300 amp. The best I have ever done was 137db.
