Is there any special tools to do a head gasket on a 318 BMW 1.8 its L reg.?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.Also how much would it cost at the dealership?.

    Try loging on: Mitchell1.com and go under do it your selfer, I use this website often they charge about 10. bucks per model but is very worth it

    I would STRONGLY recommend not doing this yourself!!! make some calls and find a good shop and save yourself the time and FRUSTRATION. Once you take it apart you don't want to realize that you are in over your head and have to pay to have it towed to a shop. I wouldn't go to the cheapest place or the most expensive, just call about 5 shops and go with the mid price.

    I just did mine BMW 740 , they have rapped me with cash.. i paid $1600.00. for a head gasket. If you want to do it yourself got o autozone and ask them what tool you need to change it.. they will tell you..

    Would NOT recomend to do it yourself.Lot of special tools you need to do this,Autozone DO NOT carry that kind of tools.Unfortunately.
