Now...to all who participated in my word game...?

Do you see the stereotypes we equate with male, female, and transgender?

Female got the "soft", the "beauty" the "feminine" and mostly positive things.

Males got some negativity in terms of aggression, and fighting and things like that.

Transgenders get the worst. We're labeled as "eww", and "confused" and "chicks with d**ks" ect. This is society views us.

So..to answer the person who asked about the G L B vs T question, there's your answer to why we dissassociate from the gay community. Not just the GLB community but much of society in general. It's no fun being part of a group that doesn't make you feel empowered or equal.

Update:

Cas..will do.

Well, I think this is a little unfair for several reasons, and I'll list them:

    1. Different people are going to respond to things differently , obviously. Example: Lesbians are going to view women in a spectacular manner (i.e. my response 'hot' 'loving' 'want' or something like that), gay men the same towards men. People wouldn't respond that way to someone transgender for a variety of reasons, not just because everyone hates the transgendered community.

    2. There are 13 year olds, bigots, and idiots that respond to these as well. Not to mention most of those in that group know nothing of GLBT, not to mention the less-explored transgender subject.

    3. You seem to have left out all the negative things that were said about women, and the positive things said about men and transgender.

You're never going to feel completely part of a group. There are always people who are going to hate on you. That doesn't mean you need to downplay the support and love that you get from the rest of the people. We're in this together, and breaking apart is only going to make our cause weaker. I don't like this victimization you're putting upon yourself.

although I did not play in your word game, I am truly sorry to hear what you have said about feeling disassociated from the gay community. It is even sadder that you take the opinion of whoever is in Y/A at the time to feel that way. I have many friends that are transgender and we all love each other. It is a shame that we do not get along better among ourselves.

Here's a gay guy that loves you all. Smile and be happy!

I unfortunately missed the previous question of which you speak. However do tend to agree with what you said for the most part. IT is a shame that society as a whole is so disassociated from one another that it forces these issues into the open. It is even more a shame that the primary reason for this is ignorance and can easily be changed, yet nothing happens.

    Haha I don't think I apply.

I answered the female question with loving things because I am a lesbian.

I think the only part that could have been considered bad from what I said about TG was the "pink" part -- which popped into my head because I know a TG with long pink hair.

But I understand -- you meant general society. I know I have said this before, but I think your game would have been more defined if you had taken this to the Polls and Surveys questions. Wider ranged audience.

nicely done. I only answered the trans one because my thoughts are too clouded when answering the others, I woulda said negative things about males, only coz I live as one daily and hate it... not coz I have anything against men, trans men or not. I woulda said some positive things about female, simply because... I dream of being female constantly :\ but your point is well delivered!

I see the sterotypes, but if we ourselves as a community obsess about how horrible these stereotypes are, we just hurt ourselves. We should spend time realizing that we ourselves hold the key to our own happiness... Not the labels and desires of those who don't understand or appreciate us...

Like your new avatar..and I agree with your conclusions. But, I answered only the Male thing, and my thoughts, as usual, were sexual...I have a hard time separating life from sex in one form or another. I have always been like that, I accept it as me. Goldwing

Oh, and by the way, I have no problems with Xsexuals...I have known many, had great laughs and fun with many...no big deal to me.

  • Well if it's any consolation, I just gave you a gold star. You Rock!
