Im sick.. :( how can i feel better faster!?

Here is my sistuation...

I just got sick 4 days ago... and have been progressively gettin worse.. My fever is now up to 102 which is high for me because I never ever get fevers.. I went to the doctor already and all they made me get was robutussum or whatever. over the counter style.. I go to USC and i have no choice but go to all my classes/ midterms. I did slept 16 hours yesturday and 12 hours so far.. and i'm about to go back to sleep once i finish a paper... so far i have had tea, drinking a lot of water, cough drops, vicks, zicom nose swabs ( i think thats what its called>) throoat swags. gatorade...... and alots of tissue and sleep... any other ideas? or do you know how long it will take me to get over this??

I have been coughing up gross green/yellow stuff and in one occasion i coughed up blood ( doctor said it wasn't a big deal)

Also... I threw up yesturday before my midterm...

Any ideas?? or know how much water I should be drinking an hour to make me feel better!?

You have a viral infection, and there are no instant cures. For the fever, alternate Tylenol and Motrin- taking one of them every two hours. Your fever may not come down below 100, but that is okay. Fever is not your enemy, it prevents the virus from reproducing but your own body cells will work just fine. You feel like doody because your body wants you to rest and let it do some gerbie butt kicking. All you can do to help is rest, drink loads of whatever fluid you like except alcohol. Broth based soups are great, along with crackers if you like. Stay away from dairy products that will just make the gunk thicker and harder to cough up or spit out. Youcan use whatever over the counter cold remedies you like, it will help with symptoms. Your body must fight off the virus itself, antibiotics don't work on viruses, only bacteria. Days 3-5 of a viral infection are generally the most miserable, and things start to improve gradually after that. Most are gone within a week to 10 days, the cough can hang in a bit longer. The blood wasn't a big deal, if you could identify it as blood, it just came from a small tear in the throat from the coughing. The more you rest the sooner it will pass, the more you push things, the longer it will take. You aren't dying, though you may honestly wish you could. Drink and rest, that's all you need. What you take for the symptoms is your choice, and Tylenol and Motrin will bring the fever down to a liveable level. The rest you just wait out. Sorry, viruses just stink.

Drink lemon juice!!! Lemon juice kills all bacteria. I drink a glass of lemon juice every day for about a year and a half and I haven't been sick once. Also, eat garlic. If you don't want to eat a plain clove of garlic (yes I know it is very spicy and wants to make you cry after eating it), then make garlic bread. Other than that, it is good that you are getting a lot of rest and are drinking tea.

    Hope you feel better soon:)
